I think this is one my new all time favorite books

What Barbara Kingsolver shares with us, in the life of Demon Copperfield, is the story I wish I could have shared, as a social worker, and lover of the human race. Her handling of sensitive and painful subjects is delicate and lovely and I finished this book wishing it would continue on. I feel I know most of the characters, from my personal and professional life. The respect and dignity she gives to each character and their story, is so beautiful, graceful, and loving. I keep telling everyone I encounter, that they must read this book. I told my adult children, that if they want to understand my life and dedication to my trade, they must read this book. How I wish I could communicate this lovely story, and so many others, as Barbara Kingsolver does. She is such a gift!

I sometimes am afraid to read Stephen King novels because at one time they became too frightening for me. but this one's just right. not too scary not dull at all but interesting exciting engaging a really good read

very entertaining blast from the past

I really enjoyed this book. it was reminiscent of my childhood. So many details from the early 60s really rang true. I enjoyed the character development, I felt that she really painted a picture of truth for the women in this book.

Barbara Kingsolver is an amazing author, she breathes life into every paragraph, sentence... every part of the story. as a social worker this book in particular touches my heart, touching on social justice and the challenges of the disenfranchised. All of that and a happy ending.

epic- I never knew any of this .

there were times when I struggle to follow along because it's so dense with information, much of which I've never heard about the underground railroad. I'm trying to find all the resources to check facts, because I had never heard that the underground railroad actually consisted of a true railroad. the story of Cora is beautiful, sad, devastating and hopeful.

so satisfying!!!

I never knew much about the Cuban revolution it was before my time and frankly history lessons very rarely focus on that. I feel like I learned a lot listening to this book but I also loved the characters it was so beautifully written almost like poetry I'm just such a satisfying story.

once I started this book I couldn't put it down

I love Jodi Picoult's writing style, her books never disappoint. this particular story surprised me, I wasn't expecting a holocaust survivor / nazi-hunting tale, but Ms. Picoult has such a unique way of presenting facts as well as imagining possibilities. I would just say, you must read this book!!!

not my favorite Stephen King but not horrible eith

I almost didn't finish the book in the beginning it sort of drags and is not that interesting but as it progressed it became more interesting and toward the end the character development was great. I love the narrator he was amazing did such a good job one of my favorites I think
