Historia
Surrender, white people! After 400 years of white supremacy in America, a reckoning is here. Time to listen up, look history in the face, and surrender unjust privilege. These are the terms of peace - and they are unconditional. Hope you have a sense of humor, because this is going to sting. The legendary activist/comedian and author of the “hilarious yet soul-shaking” (Black Enterprise) best seller How Not to Get Shot returns to address a nation on the edge of civil war.

Funny and True
Revisado: 07-13-24
Truth be told in a funny visualizing way.The book was written with historical facts. Unfortunately, there are those in America who chose to remain ignorant because they are weak. They rather erase the history of America rather than read it. I would have preferred DL not using the N-word. My belief is no one should use the N-word no matter the suffix !!! Thanks for making me laugh out loud at the truth. However, I'm still saddened by the murdering of innocent Black people. Also, I love my fur babies but I would never care more about animals being killed than the murdering of human-beings. Thanks DL!!!

Historia
Myrlie Louise Beasley met Medgar Evers on her first day of college. They fell in love at first sight, married just one year later, and Myrlie left school to focus on their growing family. Medgar became the field secretary for the Mississippi branch of the NAACP, charged with beating back the most intractable and violent resistance to black voting rights in the country. Myrlie served as Medgar’s secretary and confidant, working hand in hand with him as they struggled against public accommodations and school segregation, lynching, violence, and sheer despair within their state’s “black belt.”

This book was well written. This love story which was also a Civil Rights story show how the hatred of White people could murder a husband, father, brother, son, uncle, friend and previous soldier because they were Black.Unfortunately, this hatred which is also a mental illness is still not being dealt with today in 2024. Thank Mrs. Joy Reid for writing this wonderful love story which shows the beautiful humanity of Black people.

Historia
Eve has a problem with clutter. Too much stuff and too easily acquired, it confronts her in every corner and on every surface in her house. When she pledges to tackle the worst offender, her horror of a "hell room", she anticipates finally being able to throw away all of the unnecessary things she can't bring herself to part with: her fifth-grade report card, dried-up art supplies, an old vinyl raincoat. But what Eve discovers isn't just old CDs and outdated clothing, but a fierce desire within herself to hold on to her identity.

The humor.
Revisado: 01-12-24
I listened to the book on audible. I loved the sense of humor that was presented in the reading. I was also able to visualize because the adjectives were well used. Not a book that gives detail guidance as to how to declutter. But a book that I would recommend for the humor.
