I used this book to fall asleep to, I’m sorry to say. I keep waiting to get sucked into the story.i feel it’s just very wordy and young adult sounding. I’ll listen to the next one because I purchased it during a sale.

It was hard to stay focused on the book sometimes. Maybe a different narrator could have resonated better.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Totally a realistic story with a great BFF

It is wonderful to finally have a story that you can cheer on the main character and not cringe at the worldly advice she is getting, while yelling “don’t do it”. This was genuinely a fun, sweet story to enjoy.

Great story, just a little too perfect to be believable
Revisado: 07-19-21
A guy and gal that sat and do the right things for each situation was too well thought out. I felt it was a teaching romance story, like someone should be taking notes or a young adult should be using this as a learning experience. So for me, it needed to be more raw and less cookie cutter, hallmark special.

Good story, BUT too much bluster
Revisado: 09-18-16
I've read/listened to all the books in this series and think this is a good story line, but I've decided to give this a 3 star rating for two reasons. The first, over used phrases and similar personalities. For example, ending a sentence with the phrase 'I think'. One person may talk like that, not 2-3 characters. Another favorite, "I WILLL KILL YOU!" and "I will kill you slowly!" Hardly ever happens... All bluster and hot air. Just because it's said so many times doesn't make me think they are any tougher than before. There are way too many type A personalities that they all act (and threaten) the same.
Second gripe, during the most intense part, the last battle, my interest started to drift. Something went wrong there, that shouldn't have happened. It felt like I had heard it all before. Maybe the tempo didn't work up to the ending as well as it should have.
Well, that's my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. It's still an interesting story line, just not my cup of tea anymore.

Chapters are out of order starting after 9.
Revisado: 10-18-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The chapters are out of order. I'm not getting a quality performance.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I seems like a great book, but someone needs to look at the end of chapter 9 going into 10. There seems to be a huge leap. Then in chapter 11, there is a jump backwards. If all is correct, then I have serious issues with the writer. I originally thought it was foreshadowing and looking back but nothing is making sense.

Starting to see a cartoon name calling pattern...
Revisado: 04-07-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Maybe. I enjoyed reading about a new couple, but the characters have the same personality and verbal characteristics as the previous book, which leads to no distinctive characters from book to book. I want to enjoy new wording, sayings, personalities, not a repeat of what worked in the first book.
Any additional comments?
The plot was the most interesting part of the book and the main reason I finished it. I really didn't enjoy the same verbal banter and sarcastic remarks the second time around. I think the use of cartoon name calling might be a theme in the author's books...which leads me to feel like the characters are acting juvenile in a very adult situation. Having mentioned the author's weak point in her writing, I'll say that the plot was interesting and unpredictable. The narrator approached the characters the same as the first book which is why the characters of the first and second books sound so much alike. I think the narrator fits this series but she should work on making each character distinctive since the author is writing the books the way she is. Overall I rated the book in the middle--not bad but not great. The narrator helped by performing the book and not simply reading it.

Any additional comments?
I really liked the first two books, even though I've never met a guy that mature and responsible at that age. But, I was disappointed that the characters kept talking about the past. I really wanted to know what their married life was going to be, what they decided to do with their lives at such a young age and how they raised the boys. The only exciting and unique part of the story was at the end, the epilogue.
If you want to know more about what Will was thinking and why he did what he did, this is your book. It explains it all. Happy reading/listening.
