As with all of Ms Chiaverini's novels, this one did not lack for historical detail, an exciting story told in a way to fully engage the reader (especially relatable as a Maine Yankee now living in the deep south), as well as a worthy narrator to round out this well-done audiobook. I expected no less after listening to Mrs Lincoln's Dressmaker and the Elm Creek Quilters series. Definitely worth the listen!

I tried on 3 separate occasions to remove the title from my library totally and download it again, but every time causes the app to freeze up and crash repeatedly. Corrupted code in there somewhere, i assume. sad, as this seemed to be an interesting little story.

Imagine being off grid for a weekend to discover that the holiday series you downloaded as your only entertainment is narrated by your 1990's era answering machine. The horror is real people!
I firmly believe that both the "author" and narrator are bots tbh. Trite storylines, sappy sweet ho ho ho and mistletoe. Zero substance. I need therapy after this experience!

This is a very well-written modern love story with a unique plot line. The narration in 2 voices was very well done and truly helped the flow and listenability of the audiobook. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something a little bit different interwoven with themes as old as time and as comfortable and feel-good as your favorite pj's.

The story was good, the writing well done, and the ending a decent surprise. However, when a book is set in Maine (I'm a native Mainer), one should not have a narrator with a midwestern twang. Add to that, Ms Rosenberg pronounces a hard "G" at the end of all words ending in such - "ending-guh", "wedding-guh", "speaking-guh". It is horrible, "wrong-guh", hard to listen to, makes me question who thought she'd be a good choice to read a story set in Maine, where Nobody pronounces the final "g" ever! In Maine, you get married at a "weddin", when you talk you're "speakin", your cute kids are "cunnin", and this Mainer knows for sure that Ms Rosenberg is a "flat landah" who should be readin' books about Chicago, not coastal Maine! I won't be listenin' to anymore audiobooks that she narrates. Just sayin'.

This is one of those stories that makes you laugh, cry, blush, hope, care, and wish that it would go on forever. Wavy and Kellan, et al become your friends, cringe-worthy family, and you want to include them in your prayers at night...until you remember they are only characters in a work of fiction. Those who enjoyed Kristen Hannah's "The Great Alone" and other fantastic books will definitely love this novel.
