Historia
JUDGMENT is the classic action/adventure novel that was a runaway paperback sensation in the 1980s...and that skyrocketed the career of then-UCLA student Lee Goldberg, who later became the #1 New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of Malibu Burning, Calico, Lost Hills, fifteen Adrian Monk novels, and the first five globally bestselling Fox & O'Hare novels with Janet Evanovich. Brett Macklin was a freewheeling son of sunny California, a collector of vintage cars and a connoisseur of beautiful women. But when his father is murdered by a street gang, ...

Virtual narration is terrible
Revisado: 01-21-25
I hung in for the story but virtual narration is absolutely terrible, very hard to listen to.

Historia
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

Good story but
Revisado: 06-15-22
Good Connelly story as usual; however, the pro mask and pro vaccine references were over the top and entirely unnecessary. A few would have fine for context given the novel’s timeframe but these were nearly constant.
The novel also contained inaccurate references to the January 6, 2021 incident, including that a police officer was killed. I am fairly sure that claim has since been disproven.
For someone who has read every Connnelly novel, I just want the story. I don’t need the political stance.
