Historia
Sheila Kogan was not your typical pilgrim! This sixty-something, Jewish-Catholic, grandmother and dance teacher takes us on an unforgettable trek across Spain. With her, we flirt with Richard outside the Cathedral in Leon, reunite a sandal with a dancing Spaniard, weep with Meg over the loss of her daughter, and get a sensuous massage from a tyrannical angel. Close-to-the-bone, funny as well as heart-rending, the stories in Found Along The Way invite us to experience the Camino de Santiago as well as to journey inward, where fear and doubt battle trust and faith.

Great listen despite the AI narration
Revisado: 07-25-24
I really enjoyed following Sheila’s story and and personal/emotional journey. A human narrator would do her wonderful story far, far more justice than the AI voice. But I was really enjoying the content, and stuck it out. Glad I did.

I loved this book.
Revisado: 06-22-24
So well-written, compassionate, supportive, succinct, and perceptive. Jackson MacKenzie helped me to really understand my own experiences, and to see them from a healthier point of view – with less blame on myself. He helped me to recognize many messages and incidents that I still had not been seeing for what they were- toxic, deliberate, calculated, and really nothing to do with me or my own personality and characteristics. I have found a lot of helpful books about narcissists (by Dana Morningstar, Debbie Mirza, and Ingrid Clayton to name a few), and this is now another favorite. I felt as though I was listening to my own story being read.

Brigit is a heroine through it all, we might say a heroine-martyr. The debt paid off, and Brigit persuades Bob they need to hike the Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail. Bob is all up for some European sophistication and good times.

Loved this story about journey, healing, and growth.
Revisado: 05-28-24
Once I settled into the narration, I really enjoyed this book. I related to the journey of the Camino, as well as to the personal journey that the characters were on in their own lives and relationship - including their difficulties, and occasional harsh words to each other. Julia Sargeaunt’s way of creating authentic characters and story really drew me in. Loved it.
