Historia
Young Lucy Banister disappears on a trip to visit her aunt in Dallas. Her brother, Reese, a kidnap resolution specialist takes on the almost impossible task of tracking and recovering a missing child. Along the way, Reese encounters other lost lives, and a powerful human trafficking ring that exists only because too many are afraid to speak. A fast paced story of pain, abuse, resilience and stalwart strength.

5 star
Revisado: 04-29-25
Would’ve gave 5 stars across the board if it wasn’t virtual voice. I couldn’t stop listening, the events in this book are taking place as we speak all over the world and was a shocking eye opener for me.

"This is what I call a testimony book...this is one of the better testimony books I've read" P. Luna BlogTalkRadio David's mark - A Boy's story of Abuse in 1970's America David's mark is the novelization of the life of the author. DeWayne Watts started out his life in what appeared to be a perfect family, then at age 6 the thread in the tapestry was pulled and all quickly became dark. He does not go into graphic accounts of sexual abuse but instead leaves it up to the reader to know what happened. The book has been called a "tastefully presented account of a horrible life of a child". He ...

The story was very impactful and sad. I’m glad that the two boys survived in the end. I would have given 5 stars on performance if it wasn’t virtual voice, 5 stars for everything else.

Unwanted and homeless from day one: Social services found Jennie a new home. Tragically she was enslaved into a brutal regime of horrific abuse, extreme neglect, loss and degrading humiliation with foster parents. It continued behind closed doors in a seemingly well-respected household for twenty-three years. The foster family trafficked her to other sickening perpetrators of organised abuse rings. The death of both foster parents did not stop the hideous abuse, which continued for decades as they hunted down Jennie and her son despite moving thirty-six times. Jennie developed DID ...

Historia
The eldest of seven children born to an abusive father, I endured a childhood of unspeakable violence and ridicule. This courageous memoir details the hardships I faced as I desperately tried to be accepted as a son to a father who does not believe I am his child. I did not endure years of abuse as a child to remain silent. Now I am not ashamed of what I suffered as a child anymore. My story is not easy to read or even comprehend, but it is my truth and my right to tell because it happened to me. It took 58 years to accept that my past cannot be changed and to finally let my past go. I can ...

It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Not many little girls dream of becoming a maid, but this is an opportunity for me to get back on my feet. And for me to revisit my past....
