Historia
Tj Jensen's life is thrown into turmoil when a good friend turns up missing after a serious auto accident. Not only is the driver of the vehicle, Gina Roberts, nowhere to be found, but she's the prime suspect in the murder of her passenger, Striker Bristow, who was shot in the back. With Roy out of town and Kate running the show, Tj finds herself again excluded from the official investigation. She knows it would be wise not to anger the new deputy, who seems to be looking for a reason to have her arrested, but Tj knows that time is of the essence and the stakes are high.

Revisado: 11-21-23
The relationship between the main character (TJ) and the “victim” didn’t seem all that close or engaged enough to justify TJ’s desperate, emotional investigation. TJ came across as over-reacting, hysterical and over invested in someone she knew only superficially.

Problem is tense & POV chosen by author
Revisado: 03-20-23
Written in present tense third person limited — for this type of novel I found it just bothered me. I always felt slightly detached from the story and characters while listening. Maybe would work better on the page. Only made it through 3 chapters and couldn’t get into it so stopped. Wondering if that’s the writer’s usual choice since this is the first book of hers I’ve listened to. Will listen to an excerpt first next time. Oh, and it helps the narration to increase the speed to 1.1x
