Acerca de esta escucha

New York Times best-selling author Wendy Corsi Staub is back with the second in her critically acclaimed cozy mystery series.

After agreeing to stay in Lily Dale through the winter as caretakers of the Valley View Guesthouse and its feline residents, widowed mom Bella Jordan and her son, Max, are looking forward to the peaceful off-season after a hectic summer. That is until the medium next door, Odelia Lauder, recruits Bella to host a destination wedding for the world's most petulant bride, Johneen Maynard, a friend of Odelia's granddaughter.

Things take an even more stressful turn as the wedding day looms amid an October blizzard, when suddenly the spirits start giving Odelia a major heads up that the bride might be fated for death. And when the prediction comes true just as the storm begins to break, Bella finds herself trapped in a house full of murder suspects.

It's a race to figure out who killed Johneen - and what clever murder weapon made it appear to be natural causes - before the killer catches on in Something Buried, Something Blue.

I enjoyed this book MUCH more than I did the first (& I enjoyed the first). Worth the listen and can’t wait til the next!

Enjoyed more than the first

Bella is back and has been asked to stay on at Valley View Guesthouse as caretaker and going into the off season Odelia, the next door medium, has an idea to keep things going...Valley View Guesthouse becoming a Destination Wedding spot. What do she and Bella know about wedding planning? Well, nothing but that is not going to stop them. That is until the weather changes and Spirit starts to lead them to the conclusion that the bride may be destined to die. Yep, another murder in Lily Dale but who and what is going on. Crazy cast of characters but I really am enjoying this cozy mystery series. So much I already have book 3 ready to go!

it's an ok book - not good & not bad. the narrator was hard to listen to but if you change the speed to 1.15 or 1.2 it is tolerable

meh.... it's ok

The story was fun but the narrator is not so great. She’s too slow in places and stiff. She sounds like she’s reading a term paper instead of being a character.

Fun story

I’ve listened to all three books in this series now, and I thoroughly enjoyed all three. They are easy to listen to. The characters are well developed and interesting. The narrator does a fantastic job, and I could listen to Max and Jiffy’s voices all day long.

A Fun Listen

Very enjoyable to listen to. Fun muder mystery with a little supernatural flare. With a bit of a twist.

Cute and Entertaining.

Loved the characters, and the constant twist and turns. Look forward to listening to more in this series.

Really enjoyed it!!!

I can’t tell whether I should thank the author or be annoyed. The overthinking of the lead character is about enough to drive me crazy… what if…(insert implausible scenario here x3 or x5 depending on the mood during that chapter) happens.

Oh for goodness sake, you write an intelligent character that then acts so dumb. Ugh

But at least I’ve started to River off my overthinking is annoying to those around me.

Overall, it is enjoyable… but sometimes when the lead over thinks, over thinks again and then over thinks AGAIN… I get lost because I stopped listening somewhere. Then I have to rewind. Like I said, not sure if I should thank the author for helping me be more self aware, or annoyed that I get bored, stop listening and then have to rewind.

Stories in the series have been interesting…

The characters were wonderful. The story was quite clever, with quite a few clues, which I put together. And I was very satisfied in the end.

I really enjoyed this.

I liked the first book in the series much better. What I liked most was Chance The Cat and her kittens and the addition of the Russian Blue kitty. I love all the characters, but like some of the other readers I found the main character to be too timid and unsure of herself to be the heroine of the story. It truly is annoying and aggravating the way she constantly second guesses herself or asks herself questions only to disregard the obvious clues. I mean, Seriously? She comes across as a child. It’s almost like the writer was following a formula in writing this story and kept repeating the same technique over and over so it felt completely redundant and boring. I did get through the entire thing because I like all the other characters and wanted to see it through, but I truly hope that the writer will change the main character if she plans on keeping the series going. At this point I don’t know if I can handle the third book in the series, but I really want to know if she keeps all the kittens! Good luck readers. Maybe you won’t find the formulaic writing as irritating as I did.

Just okay
