Two hearts. One kiss. Following his wife’s death in childbirth, Fitzwilliam Darcy hopes to ease his way back into society by hosting a house party during Christmastide. He is thrilled when his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam sends a message saying not only will the colonel attend, but he is bringing a young woman with him of whom he hopes both Darcy and the colonel’s mother, Lady Matlock, will approve. Enjoyable parallels with the original Pride and Prejudice

The narrator was a good reader but lacked performance quality. Would be enjoyable to have the characters change in voice and inflection.

What a great Western story with lots of adventure and fun dialogue. The actors were such a great addition. And the surprising encounter at the end made it truly a grand Christmas story.

When her husband comes under suspicion of murder, she seeks expert help from Dr. Thomas Silkstone, a young anatomist from Philadelphia. Intriguing Forensic Mystery
Revisado: 08-30-22
This was a great Forensic mystery with all of the investigation you would expect. Great descriptions of anatomy and disease processes while also having a great story line. Plenty of villains to go around and a wonderful damsel in distress. The setting and time period showed the characters in their true light. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this mystery and was curious to the end. The ending was strong and was quite a surprise. If you like medical history with an English flair, this is a great book!

Historia
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

Was a great book until the last minute and all of a sudden it was over. Harriet wasn’t characterized as a 16 year old! Seemed immature and more like 12!
