Historia
Breakfast of Champions (1973) provides frantic, scattershot satire and a collage of Vonnegut's obsessions. His recurring cast of characters and American landscape was perhaps the most controversial of his canon; it was felt by many at the time to be a disappointing successor to Slaughterhouse-Five, which had made Vonnegut's literary reputation.

Not a coherent story
Revisado: 04-24-16
I understand the beauty in disorganized thought. But this sort of writing style often feels rambling to me and is not something I enjoy reading. I liked some parts of the book, as it made you think, and become reflective of humanity, nature and society, but in my opinion those moments where over thrown by ramblings. Some of the deepest reflections upon life come from madmen. But you have to filter though the madness to obtain the nuggets of brilliance.

Great story, a little predictable
Revisado: 02-13-16
Loved the story, I think that is may have lost something in translation. The piano pieces throughout the performance were very distracting and unnecessary.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Picked for a book club
Revisado: 10-23-15
This was not a book I would have read if it were not part of a book club. It was a good book, and very great with the dynamics amount the characters. It was a bit slow though.

Historia
The second novel by Donna Tartt, best-selling author of The Goldfinch (winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize), The Little Friend is a grandly ambitious and utterly riveting novel of childhood, innocence, and evil. The setting is Alexandria, Mississippi, where one Mother’s Day a little boy named Robin Cleve Dufresnes was found hanging from a tree in his parents’ yard. Twelve years later Robin’s murder is still unsolved. So Robin’s sister Harriet - unnervingly bright and insufferably determined - sets out to unmask his killer.

What??????
Revisado: 09-25-15
The goldfinch was my first read by Donna Tartt, and I should have relished in that instead of rushing to read all of Donna Tartts work. This was so disappointing toward the end. It didn't tie up any loose ends, not offer much closure. Beautifully written, and amazing detail, but I felt it needed another few chapters.

A true disappointment
Revisado: 06-27-15
I was expecting this book to be great! It had a great hook and progressed well until about 3/4 of the way through where it began to get lazy. The author seemed to "and then" the rest of the book. The ending was disappointing at best and left me feeling as if I had wasted my time and an audible credit. It had such promise!

Great book
Revisado: 05-11-15
I enjoyed this book a lot. While the majority of great writing appeared in the first 3/4 of the book, the ending felt a little rushed and scattered. Still a wonderful read for those who enjoy this genre
