This is a good series. I am not sure I like the endings. But the series does make me want to know what will happen next.

I had to slowdown the audio. He talked so fast I missed things. That was a first for me. However at a little slower pace I was able to keep up. It was a great listen. What a life.

The stories were very entertaining

The narration was okay. Certain words could have used editing. However, I was surprised that it was as good as it was. I think professional readers are much better. It lacks the depth that human voices give.

On to the stories. I liked them both. I would have liked the ending of the second story to be slightly different. I like the way this author writes. The stories always are interesting and unique.

Omg such a great book

Smart. Funny. Great narration. Fresh and original story line. This author is so much fun. But he outdid himself on this one.

I have mixed feelings about these books.

First, I have to mention that I had to delete and download these books about once an hour. I have never had this experience with any other audible book. When I called tech support, they were not helpful. Just said the obvious things I had already done, get the latest version of the app, and try and delete and download again. There was no mention of other people experiencing the same behavior. Honestly, that did take away some of the enjoyment. I could only listen in the car for about 20 minutes top, before it would stop abruptly. While at home, I think I got about 2 hours max before again, just stop and have to be deleted and downloaded again. Audible should really address this issue more seriously.

Now to the book. First, Zinnia takes the prize for being the most annoying character. Her character is broken, as is everyone in the book. She grew up with a a mother who was not comfortable in her own skin, selfish, and self-absorbed, non-supportive. An absent father, who even after she was no longer under her mother’s roof could not bring himself to be supportive to his daughter. An aunt that did not reach out. To the father of her child who just disappeared from her life. She took all that and instead of perpetuating the cycle of destructive behavior, she raised her daughter in a supportive, encouraging and loving atmosphere. Giving her tools to handle life, which Zinnia was never given. So some of her behavior, can be forgiven.

All the characters are trying to come to grips with who and what they are, as well as were they fit in the world. The problem is secrets. The more the hide things from the people they love, the more tangled mess’s their lives become. Humm, seems very much like the “real” world.

So overall, I liked the books. But it is time for Zinnia to grow up, and the very last part of the very last book in this collection, she seems like she may have taken the first step.

Fun listen

Though I enjoyed the book, the fact that Jack did not know the difference between a burglary and a robbery is annoying. This issue should have been corrected. To hear the terms misused over and over is distracting.

Great cozy book

I enjoyed the book. The wide eyed optimism is refreshing if not realistic. But that is why I like cozy’s. Very much good guys and bad guys and little in between.

An enjoyable listen

I liked the premise and the story. Left me wanting more. The story touched on many different aspects of the main characters, but left a lot to still be uncovered. I look forward to the next book.

Characters were not true to other two books

1. After all the honesty stuff between Jenny and Tony you would think a simple talk would have been in order. The drama could have come from everything else.

2’ Zoe already had a love interest. Just ignoring that wasted a good story line.

3. The chief of police was warming up to Zoe and Jenny, but that didn’t mean he also had to give up his job.

4. The characters regressed in this book rather than progress. Perhaps if there is another book, stay a bit closer to how the characters were growing in the first two books and pretend the last book held better to the original two books.
