Historia
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time.

possibly the most uninteresting and dull narrative of not much
Revisado: 05-03-25
I don't understand why this book has such rave reviews. I tried....it is so boring. the narration is too sing songy. it just becomes an irritation. lots of word salad. 5 hours in, nothing happens. I wish I could get my time and money back.

I have been Simon Feximal's companion, assistant, and chronicler for 20 years now, and during that time my Casebooks of Feximal the Ghost-Hunter have spread the reputation of this most accomplished of ghost-hunters far and wide. Here is how my association with Feximal came about. I dare say it may not be quite what you expect.

too much erotica

story didn't need to portray so many sex scenes. the story was good . no need to keep hammering the love scenes....I'd feel the same if the lovers whether heterosexual.

Historia
Duchess Day Radley is a 13-year-old self-proclaimed outlaw. Rules are for other people. She is the fierce protector of her five-year-old brother, Robin, and the parent to her mother, Star, a single mom incapable of taking care of herself, let alone her two kids. Walk has never left the coastal California town where he and Star grew up. He may have become the chief of police, but he’s still trying to heal the old wound of having given the testimony that sent his best friend, Vincent King, to prison decades before. And he's in overdrive protecting Duchess and her brother.

AWFUL
Revisado: 08-02-24
sappy shallow characters. I would have thought it was meant for teens but for the absurd tedious chapters dedicated to porn in written word, vulgar pervertedly violent with basically no story or plot.
I started this book in car driving....I felt trapped . worst book I've had I. a long time.
I would like my credit back

Historia
We spend an average of 33 years of our lives asleep. But what really happens, and what are we capable of, when we sleep? Anna Ogilvy was a budding twenty-five-year-old writer with a bright future. Then, one night, she stabbed two people to death with no apparent motive—and hasn’t woken up since. Dubbed “Sleeping Beauty” by the tabloids, Anna’s condition is a rare psychosomatic disorder known to neurologists as “resignation syndrome.”

A successful film professor and podcaster, Bodie Kane is content to forget her past—the family tragedy that marred her adolescence, her four largely miserable years at a New Hampshire boarding school, and the murder of her former roommate, Thalia Keith, in the spring of their senior year. Though the circumstances surrounding Thalia’s death and the conviction of the school’s athletic trainer, Omar Evans, are hotly debated online, Bodie prefers—needs—to let sleeping dogs lie.

what happened to holly?
this holly is not the same character
did anyone in this narration ever read the other holly gibney books?
it was all too weird. it read more like a middle schooler may have had a hand in writing it.
as far as the basic idea of the story. that's the 2 stars. killer old people....sounded intriguing. Unfortunately, Mr. King, or maybe one of his grandchildren, decided to fill the book with Trump references, COVID bs, and other political rhetoric rather than developing the actual storyline. the whole thing was more annoying than entertaining. in general, poorly written

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.
