Many of the stories are thought provoking, entertaining and disturbing. If they are truly based on real encounters, they are helpful in bringing awareness to what is really happening around us in our modern world.

One of the best audible selections I have made.

This is an EXCELLENT book. It held my complete attention from start to finish. The author gives plenty of anecdotes from her time working at the Hotel Cecil ... From the dream of reinventing the Hotel to the corruption going on behind the scenes to the different people occupying this once grand establishment. Elisa Lam's story is covered . ( yet still leaves the question how did she get in the tank to begin with ? ) This book has left me with much subject matter to contemplate and reflect on. Very well done

If you are looking for a fun read this isn't it. She mostly talks about personal insights of her soul, her life baggage, her pain, blah blah blah. She wants everyone to know how well read she is, that she is smart, blah blah blah. I skipped through many of the chapters. A fun read ? Both Bobbi Brown books. This was disappointing.

What touched me about Lionel Dahmer was the love he had for his son through out J.D.'s troubled life. How many people don't know the love of family, of a parent. How many people are judged by those closest to them. People who have done nothing like J.D. Yet, even after the horrific crimes/acts Jeff Dahmer committed, his father Still LOVED him. That really spoke to me.

Excellent book

As a child of abuse, I was very touched by this book. Her honesty and bravery in telling her life experiences has helped me, in many ways. This is not a book only about shocking people with terrible details about abysmal crimes. It is about victims of abuse turned into survivors. It is about remembering the victims that didn't survive. If you have experienced extreme abuse and are ready, it is a book about healing and hope. She is finally able to see her mother for who she really is, not as the mother she always wanted. We all want our parents to truly love us, truly care about our well being. Some of us just didn't get that and never will, and life CAN and DOES go on.
