Series is starting to fall off
Revisado: 04-24-25
It feels like the story is being dragged out to make more books at this point. The first book was fine. The 2nd book up to this book could have just been one book. I will not listen further until the other books go on sale or there’s a BOGO offer. Not worth it anymore.

Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

Amazing performance with a terrible ending
Revisado: 04-09-25
SPOILER ALERT!!!! Please do NOT read further if you don’t want to have the story ruined for you. This story started out with a great premise and bit of foreshadowing that was really clever. Great effects, sounds, cast, music. All amazing. The whole story, though, boils down to the end about Veronica choosing to allow the signal to be believed as ET communication, exposing Wells, or doing nothing. She chose the worst option. She had the ability to save her career AND make the world a better place by having them focus elsewhere than killing each other. She could have literally saved lives! I understand the overall ethical argument but who cares!? Corporations are literally unethical every day! At least have them come together for a common goal of trying to become interstellar and focus on science. But no, she chose to allow the world to operate the same crappy way it has been with all its ego and greed…shame. Could have been a wonderful ending…

Historia
When society ceases to exist, who can you trust? After the collapse of the nation's power grid, America is under martial law - and safety is an illusion. As violence erupts around him, Morgan Carter faces one of his most difficult decisions yet: whether to stay and defend his home, or move to a more isolated area, away from the prying eyes of the government. He and his family are hesitant to leave their beloved Lake County, but with increasingly suspicious activities happening in a nearby refugee camp, all signs point towards defecting.

Good story but I feel it start to drag a bit
Revisado: 03-27-25
I feel like the author might be milking the story a bit. It’s good but the story progress didn’t really move much during this book.. they only moved to a new location and we saw how life was in the camps…at this point I’m drawn in and like the characters but this whole story could have been done in 3 books.

If society collapsed, could you survive? When Morgan Carter's car breaks down 250 miles from his home, he figures his weekend plans are ruined. But things are about to get much, much worse: the country's power grid has collapsed. There is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored - if it ever will be.

A fun destination adventure when SHTF!
Revisado: 03-05-25
Fun book that took a situation that could happen and made it exciting! Yes it was a little unrealistic with the chain of events but it’s fiction! I liked the idea of the prepper finally having prepped well for the event. There are many people that read this who are preppers and this helps them see what could happen. And it helps others see what they may need to train/stock up for. The scene I thought was the most cheesy was the radio announcement scene. Just thought it could have been written more believably. Great adventure overall!

It wasn’t boring but it wasn’t super engaging. I found it a decent enough listen but I don’t need to listen to it again. Interesting story of a different way of life for sure!

Historia
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.

Great concept but boring plot
Revisado: 01-19-25
This book had a good beginning, better ending, but a terribly drawn out middle that never seemed to end. Narrator was good though. The story constantly circled back on the same character thoughts/patterns/dialogue. It got so repetitive I lost track of the story progression. For what was a great concept of a story, I was really let down by a lackluster telling of it. So many words and paragraphs could have been taken out. I honestly think this story could have been told in half the time.

Historia
Cal's "honeymoon" didn't start off quite how he'd planned. For starters, he was heading somewhere he didn't actually want to go. And secondly, he was going alone and unmarried. He had no idea that his first visit to New York City would also land him in the middle of a domestic terror attack, forcing him to flee Manhattan in a desperate bid to survive. This was no ordinary terror attack. The Movement, in a misguided attempt to seize political control of the USA, unwittingly invited the destruction of their homeland.

It was good and entertaining enough. It didn’t draw me in like other books, but it did so well enough. And it was included with my audible membership. If I used a credit for this, I might have been disappointed.

Historia
Frey is the captain of the Ketty Jay, leader of a small and highly dysfunctional band of layabouts. An inveterate womaniser and rogue, he and his gang make a living on the wrong side of the law, avoiding the heavily armed flying frigates of the Coalition Navy. With their trio of ragged fighter craft, they run contraband, rob airships, and generally make a nuisance of themselves. So a hot tip on a cargo freighter loaded with valuables seems like a great prospect for an easy heist and a fast buck. Until the heist goes wrong, and the freighter explodes.

There is a war on masculinity, and everywhere we look—on every front we hold sacred—we can see the painful reminders of this collapsing order. The chaos and crisis we are experiencing today should be a signal for men everywhere to rise up; to fight to preserve our way of life by once again walking the ancient paths. But this isn’t a journey that need be taken alone.

John is a great role model and mentor!
Revisado: 05-26-24
Despite my religious viewpoint being different than John’s, his life is an inspiration to live better and more fully. To truly give yourself to your family, yourself, and others. His example of living a good life should be a reminder to us all that we can give more of ourselves in all aspects of our lives. I knew John from his YouTube channel and was surprised when I found out he wrote a book! Great message overall. John is the perfect definition of what being a man truly is.

There’s a reason you were drawn to this audiobook. Maybe you’re dissatisfied with what you’ve been told you “should be”. Maybe you know there’s something bigger out there, waiting for you, but the people in your life just don’t understand. Maybe you feel crazy or alone, like part of you is dying. You’re not dying. You’re just waking up. Even if you have seen my content before, it's time to strap in and hold on tight because this is not your average text. It’s your soul’s reminder of how powerful you are, and of how much you already know!

Too much “starseed”, not enough universal consciousness
Revisado: 05-01-24
I feel like the author fixated too much on being a starseed and not enough on what it truly means to be part of a universal consciousness. We are all the same ocean experiencing one single wave that is still part of the whole. I feel like the author focused on past lives too much. And the 2nd half of the book was about remembering what intergalactic planet we belong to. “The Awakening Film” on YouTube is what I was after more, not so much what star system I came from. Because that doesn’t make sense to me. Earth is an experiment to see how humans do? And there is a multidimensional space war with other systems between light and dark? The author “remembered” a different life where she was on a spaceship as a crew member? Why? Why would the universe still have war at higher levels of being? Where does a universal consciousness/Spirit/Source come in with that framework?? It made me more confused. I got more insight watching Bashar videos on YT than this book..
