Historia
What is tantra? Who is qualified to practice it? How should it be practiced? What are the results? According to Buddhism, every human being has the potential to achieve profound and lasting happiness. And according to the tantric teachings of Buddhism, this remarkable transformation can be realized very quickly if we utilize all aspects of our human energy - especially the energy of our desires.

Disappointing
Revisado: 03-22-19
I enjoyed Occupied Grave but in this second effort Barnett succumbs to the hapless trivia of the totally cozy.
Most disturbing is the narration. Patterson did a good job with the first book, but he too has redefined himself and not for the better. The reading is high school - well no make that 8th grade. And tends only to make a poor second effort from the author not worth the time or money.

Historia
Two suspicious deaths challenge DS Alan Banks and his crack investigative team. A young local student’s body is found in an abandoned car on a lonely country road. The death looks like suicide, but there are too many open questions for Banks and his team to rule out foul play. The victim didn’t own a car. A man in his 60s is found dead in a gully up on the wild moorland. He is wearing an expensive suit and carrying no identification. Post mortem findings indicate that he died from injuries sustained during a fall. Was it an accident - did he slip and fall? Or was he pushed?

Take me out and shoot me
Revisado: 02-24-19
If I buy another Peter Robinson book take me out and shoot me.
Robinson has always been an obnoxious opinionated music snob. He creates a Jamaican character and then makes her disdain reggae? Now he's bashing Neil Diamond. And his mediocre writing and impoverished plots do not compensate.

But after the war has ended, she presumes the events of those years have been relegated to the past forever. Historia
When Bruce Jansen ascends to the White House, he is a changed man, determined to end gun violence by any means necessary. Rights are taken away as quickly as weapons. International travel becomes impossible. Checkpoints and roadblocks destroy infrastructure. The media is censored. Militias declare civil war on the government. The country is in chaos, and Jansen's former friends each find themselves fighting a very different battle, for themselves, their rights, their country... and, in Doggie's case, the life of her father, who just may be innocent.

A poor imitation of Grisham
Revisado: 08-18-18
I love the Department Q series and began the Washington Decree with great anticipation.
It is hard to believe that this book was written by the same author. No finesse, no complexity, poorly developed characters and a plot that raises the eyebrows in skepticism at every turn.
Stick to Denmark Jussi, and to Carl, Assad and Rose

Poor imitation of The Shack
Revisado: 05-15-17
What disappointed you about The Ravine?
The book presents an ABC of Christian belief as if its a revolutionary thought. The book therefore builds to a climax that is a duh!
The author tries to emulate The Shack which deals with the subject, radical forgiveness, with creativity and power.
thank God for the Audible return button
Has The Ravine turned you off from other books in this genre?
yes
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Troy Slavin?
don't know. hard to read rubbish well
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
disappointment

Historia
Thirty-six of the most interesting writers in the Pacific Northwest came together for a week-long marathon of writing live on stage. The result? Hotel Angeline, a truly inventive novel that surprises at every turn of the page. Something is amiss at the Hotel Angeline, a rickety former mortuary perched atop Capitol Hill in rain-soaked Seattle. Fourteen-year-old Alexis Austin is fixing the plumbing, the tea, and all the problems of the world, it seems, in her landlady mother’s absence.

Bold effort. No success
Revisado: 03-16-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
unredeemable. start again from scratch, perhaps with one author
What was most disappointing about the authors’s story?
the plot becomes fantastical and interest is lost rather than gained
Did Pam Ward do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
characters weak, differentiation would not help
Could you see Hotel Angeline being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No

Historia
i>The Price of Love and Other Stories includes two novellas and several stories featuring the Yorkshire policeman at his finest. In the novella "Going Back," never before published in the United States, Banks returns home for a family reunion, only to find it taking a decidedly sinister turn. In "Like a Virgin," written especially for this volume, Banks revisits the period in his life and the terrible crime that led him to leave London for Eastvale

Unbelievably bad
Revisado: 01-27-16
Would you try another book from Peter Robinson and/or the narrators?
yes if it is in full length
What was most disappointing about Peter Robinson’s story?
His shorts lack the finesse and intrigue necessary for success in this genre. His so called novellas read like abridged novels
What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?
John Lee is pretentious, overblown and reliably annoying. His intent seems not to deliver a narrative but to show off his (dubious) skills at elocution
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Price of Love and Other Stories?
Discard the entire manuscript
