This standalone is told in third person POV in the main parts of this story, first person POV in the other parts of the story and leaves you with a HEA.

The narrator of this story did a great job on bringing this story’s emotions and events to life. There were a few times that I felt it was a little monotone, but overall enjoyable.

I loved that Zoey didn’t let being new to town stop her from making friends. She is definitely wise beyond her thirteen years. She gave off great Nancy Drew vibes. I loved her bravery and ability to solve the mystery. I loved that Rodney befriended Zoey from the beginning and was eager to not only help her, but protect her the best he could for their age.

I also loved that Zoey’s mom, Hannah played the mother role of protecting Zoey, but also allowing her to feed her curiosity and grow to the be her own person. I was happy that she also got a HEA of her own aside from the mystery aspect of the book being solved.

This would be a great book for young readers. While I’m not a big fan of third person POVs, I could understand why it was written the way it was. It was interesting to see the events from the journals that Zoey found play out in first person POV. It was almost like being transported back in time to experience the pirates, slave trading and high seas.

This was an enjoyable read that definitely takes you on an adventure. I received an advanced readers copy via Hidden Gems and Author’s Direct. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story on Audible. Katie Bloomwood did another great job of bringing this story to life. She voiced all the characters in this book, and I enjoyed how she gave each character their own unique voice and personality. I do think (even though it’s told in third person) that it would be even more enjoyable if there was a male voicing the male characters while Katie Bloomwood voiced the females.

This is book three of this series, told in third person pov and leaves you with a HEA. This book can be read as a standalone, but is more enjoyed when read in order.

This story held my attention and was interesting to see all the different personalities and traits that defended the city of vampires. I love that Elle found the adventure she was looking for and the love she never thought she would receive. I love that Valentine opened up to Elle and found his light in the darkness.

I’ve enjoyed this series and can’t wait to see the next story plays out to help save Olympus.

I received an advanced readers copy via BookFunnel/the author. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after borrowing the book through kindle unlimited to compare the copy received to the published copy.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story on Audible. Katie Bloomwood did a great job of bringing this story to life. She voiced all the characters in this book, and it was interesting to see how she gave each character their own unique voice and personality. I would listen to her again.

This is book two of this series, told in third person POV and takes you on quite the adventure. I loved Ember, Ash, Blaze, Ned and Ted, Smoke and Lydia. The love, loyalty, magic, adventure, suspense, drama and the determination was perfect. I prefer a book told in first person POV over third person, as I feel like I connect with the characters better, like I am actually in the book instead of being told a story, but the way this is written it held my attention and kept me intrigued.

I love that Ember never loses her determination to become a firefighter, no matter who/what knocks her down. I love that Ash wanted to protect Ember, but also encouraged her to find the fire inside herself fight for what she wants.

I love Blaze and easygoing, goofy self. He had me chuckling on more than one occasion. Ned and Ted were the underdogs (which I always root for!) like Ember, but with her, they rose and found themselves as well.

I was iffy on Smoke with her attitude but when things heated up and she confronted Ember, I was swaying to her side and then her witty responses to the mortals had me falling to the liking her side. I also wasn’t expecting the ending for her, very nice!

Lydia. Oh Lilac Lydia. She had me from the get go. Anytime she appeared, she had me cackling with her responses! There was never a dull moment with her!

Overall, this was a great read and I enjoyed seeing another son of Olympus find his true love and perfect match. I can’t wait to see who the next son gets paired with and what the adventure we will get to embark on with them is!

I received an advanced reader’s copy via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving this review. These words, thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book two of this interconnected standalone series. This story is told in dual first person POV.

I listened to the audiobook on Audible. The narrator is a male and voices both the main Male and Female characters, along with the side characters. He did a great job doing both characters and side characters. I would listen to more of his work. He did a great job bringing this story to life.

This story picks up a few months after the epilogue of book one. So in my opinion, it would be better to read the series in order. It does give the view of where book one left off in a different view along with more information about the events. I would also check trigger warnings, as this book does touch on sensitive topics such as human trafficking and descriptions of certain acts that weren’t consensual.

My heart broke for Rune’s son. I was so happy that he gathered the courage and strength to speak to Rune (Erik) about what he had been going through with his mother. I was so proud of Rune for doing what was needed to protect not only his son but the others that were harmed by the vile monster that was his ex.

My heart broke for Fern and what she had been through as well. I loved that her best friend Charm didn’t give up on her, but I loved that Rune was the one to get through to her and bring her back to the person she was before. I loved that they had a relationship before her life changed. I loved that she agreed to help him do whatever it took to gain custody of his son and help in anyway she could. I loved that she was able to form a bond with his son as well.

I am so excited to read/listen to more of this series! That epilogue definitely has me needing more!! I was provided an advanced listeners copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is book one of this interconnected standalone series. Told in dual first person POV and one that will have you needing more.

I listened to the audiobook on Audible. This was the first time I have listened to the narrator, and I will admit it was a bit weird to listen to a man narrate the male and female characters. Normally if there is one narrator, I t’s a female doing both characters. He did a great job doing both characters and side characters though! I would listen to more of his work. He did a great job bringing this story to life.

This story held my attention and I finished it in a day. My heart went out Fenrir and having to navigate his nomad life after the loss of the mother to his children. Though they didn’t see eye to eye at first, I loved the sneaky prank that went out of control Charm ended up not being able to live down. I loved their chemistry and how much love she had for his children.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with the rest of the nomads who decided to stay put to support Fenrir and his kids. I was provided an advanced listeners copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first time I have read anything by Tricia T. Larochelle, but it definitely won’t be the last. This story is heartbreaking, raw, redeeming and relatable. There are triggers to look out for.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did an amazing job of giving this story life. The only thing I would’ve liked better is if she could’ve changed her voice for different characters.

This book starts off intense with our hunk of a rockstar in a face off with a situation that changes his life. Two years later we meet Sophia who has had her fair share of trauma. Two lost souls were brought together by fate and one sweet baby bird.

I do think the insta-love they had wasn’t the right fit for them, considering they both were still in the thick of their issues. I think a slow-medium build would have been better.

Regardless, this story held my attention and there were a few revelations I didn’t expect and had my jaw dropping. My heart went out to both Sophia and our hunk of a rockstar, but I was happy to see them both get the HEA they both deserved. I was provided an advanced listeners copy and used my KU to read along.

*3.75 stars: Book; 3.75 stars: Audiobook; 5 stars: Performance*

This is a standalone story by (based off her Amazon Page) a new author. I read and listened to the audiobook. I am giving the 3.75 stars to the book and the audiobook for the actual story. I am giving the performance of the narrator, Juli Brooks, 5 stars.

Juli Brooks did a great job bringing this story to life. She was able to hold my attention and deliver a great story.

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story and seeing how the mystery unfolded. I definitely wasn’t expecting that ending. I was rooting for Lexi to be able to finally enjoy her life after all she had been through. I wasn’t a fan that she waited so long to figure out who and why Zac was pushing her to talk to her about her past. For someone who just wanted to live her life, she didn’t really try hard to live. She seemed to be stuck in her past and do nothing to change it until the “big reveal” at the end.

I would’ve liked more history on Zac as well. I appreciated his dedication to his job and wanting to keep Lexi safe, but I didn’t really connect with him. There was still too much mystery to him for me. The relationship between him and Lexi went from 0 to 60 in no time, but I didn’t really feel their connection either.

The plot had good bones, but there were some things that made me a little confused. Some characters were thrown in that weren’t mentioned again after their appearance, which caused some confusion as to why they were there in the first place. Some of the time frames didn’t add up with certain events either. I also think that this story could go through another round of edits.

While this story wasn’t a favorite of mine, I would be willing to give the AJ Faris another go. Even though there was things I didn’t like about the story, it still held my attention.

I received an advanced readers copy of the e-book via Hidden Gems and the audiobook via StoryOrigin. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

*4.75 stars for book, 5 for audio performance*

This is the first time I have read/listened to anything by this author. While I’m not usually a fan of third person writing, this story held my attention.

The book itself is a solid 4.75 stars, while the audiobook is a solid five stars for the Narrator, Jule Nelson-Duac.

I haven’t listened to any of Jule’s other audiobooks she performed, but I could definitely listen to more of her work. She did an amazing job at making me experience the story. The way she can change the sound and pitch of her voice is incredible.

The book itself was interesting. I love the concept of psychics and mediums helping to gain justice (and sometimes a little revenge) for the deceased’s loved ones and selves.

It was interesting to see how the ghost of the murder victim was able to communicate and help clear the suspect while bringing the real players down. There were times I felt that there were too many suspects and I got a little confused, but I quickly caught up.

The ending was definitely interesting and I would like to see Aden and his children get a second chance at love and a family. I would’ve liked to see Sidney call Bernice after everything to give her an update. I could see her, Sam, Bernice and her psychic friend team up.

I received an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

*4.75 stars for the audiobook and 3.75 stars for the actual book; may contain spoilers depending on your interpretation of this review*

This is book one of this series. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life. I would listen to other books that she has narrated.

At no fault of the narrator, I do think that it would’ve been easier to understand the book if the events with Cain and Angel were specified. It was sometimes hard to tell what was going on because they were in two different places but both of what was happening with them was told at the same time. It also made it seem like it was told in Angel’s view in first person and Cain’s view in third person.

This is definitely a quick read that can be read in less than a day. It was a quick enemies to lovers turned insta love, he falls first story. While it was enjoyable and their chemistry couldn’t be denied, I still didn’t really connect with either of them.

There was no history, long or brief, of anyone in this story. Nothing about Cain’s background except that he had some military experience and something to do (or did, it wasn’t specified) with the government. There was no history or explanation about who Mom and Pop were or the other members of the club except their roles.

The only history we got on Angel was that she had a traumatic experience with another motorcycle club and instead of seeking therapy, a doctor and/or going to the cops, she got a plan b pill and ran. But how far did she run before she found Cain’s club?

Cain and his club took in three underage kids they didn’t know (which I loved and thought was great). They hired Angel to teach them instead of making them go to school and causing the law to get involved, again that was very considerate. This is where it get a tad unbelievable, or hard for me to understand, where are their parents? How did they find Cain’s club? How did they get involved with the other motorcycle club? How did they get away from the other club?

While it was a good read and the bones of a great story is there, it needs a lot of beefing up. I felt like I got the middle of a story with no beginning or end. Although this wasn’t a favorite of mine, I am willing to give Marteeka Karland another shot.

I received an advanced readers/listeners copy via StoryOrigin. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

This second installment of this series can be read as a standalone that is interconnected with the first book. With this story we get to see Jarrod (Ash from book one’s son) and June (the best friend of Jarrod’s younger brother).

I listened to the audiobook of this story and the narrators did a great job at bringing this story to life. They also did a great job of voicing the other characters in the story as well.

My heart went out June, not just for finding herself in the situation she was at the beginning, but because she felt like everyone she loves leaves her. With a heart of gold and a love for children, she makes a perfect nanny. I love the relationship and bond that she creates with Jarrod’s daughter. I love that her friendship with Keifer wasn’t completely destroyed when the truth came out either.

I loved watching Jarrod with his daughter, Piper. When he was with June during their two weeks together, I liked their chemistry and how he made June feel like she was worth something (when they finally stopped fighting their feelings). I felt like he was a bit too childish after their time together when he said all those hurtful things about June and then refused to apologize. Once he got over himself, I was happy to see him work so hard to get her back.

Piper completely stole the show for me whenever she was featured. I loved how caring, sweet and funny she was. I’m excited to see more of the Hawthorne men and other books that Callie Stevens brings us.

I received an advanced listeners copy via Booksprout. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after listening for my own personal enjoyment.
