Elizabeth has too many fits of nerves, and Darcy has no problem being deceptive. It seemed like it was going to be a great story, but fell flat about the half-way mark.

VV, need I say more on the narration?

Think twice before you spend time listening. The story is good at times. Research is desperately needed. VV is okay, but seriously needs better pronunciation, especially with French based words.

The story has good bones and starts off well, but doesn't stay interesting. The entire Wickham/Lydia section seems forced and unnecessary.

Elizabeth acts and thinks ridiculously quite often - but on second thought, many of the characters act odd. This may be a consequence of the VV not being able to emote.

This book has many layers. It might have flowed better if it had been separated into 2 different variations. The baddies were dealt with satisfactorily, some sooner than others, while some came out of left field.
A good Editor is needed, further research into the regency era, and of course a better narrator. This AI voice was one of the better ones and at least it had an English accent.

First, Harry Frost is excellent as usual.

This is a zero angst story. Fortune didn't just fall on the Bennett's, but it pounded them on their heads.

This isn't a terrible story. Jann Rowland is a wonderful author. I was surprised by how it seemed to be all sunshine and lollipops.

If you would like a story to cleanse your palette after listening to 1 or 2 high anxiety audiobooks, this would do it.

This is not a lighthearted story. There is a HEA, satisfying end to the 3 main villians (not enough of those in variations), and ODC are the heart and soul of this take. The narrator did a fine job, but I won't actively seek his narrations out.

I enjoyed this "what if" scenario. It doesn't follow cannon, and I enjoy these types of stories as a change.

Mr. B is ridiculously stubborn, but Mrs. B is crafty. ODC fall in love quickly but need to wait for thier HEA. They have much more page time than I expected. All villians are present however, Collins ... well, he is the major antagonist.

Ms. Zimmerman is wonderful as always, but there is a small production issue near the end which jarred me from the flow of the story. I easily became immersed in the tale again.

After reading some of the reviews I almost passed this variation by. I am so glad I took a chance and used the credit for this low angst account.

This was an interesting take on the original. Very low angst which makes it a nice story to listen to if one just needs to distress and feel good. Bad guys get their just dues and guaranteed HEA for ODCand their families.
Harry Frost is excellent as usual. His comedic timing is spot on.
I highly recommend this book.

This is an interesting premise and could have been an amazing audiobook. The narrators do a great job with the characters they were supposed to voice.

Biggest problem I have with the story is that the FMC acts so stoopid too many times. Don't go out at night? She runs outside. Don't say my name? She says it often. She eventually gets better, but I would appreciate authors to give FMC some common sense and intelligence, especially if she is smart enough to have a Master's.
Second issue is if there is a dual narration, please make it a true dual narration. Hearing the female VA speaking the MMC voice, and the male VA reading the FMC voice is so odd and distracting.

If you can overlook those issues, then I would recommend this book. I'm curious about the second book in this series, partly because I apparently cannot keep my curiosity at bay.

The voice actor is great with the male characters, not so great with females. His voice is one I will search for just to hear his deep resonance.
The FMC is annoying. She lies often, yet accuses Grimarr of lying when he is not. He is definitely an alpha male!
The misunderstanding due to cultural differences gets very frustrating. Jule should just ask why something is happening instead of leaping to wild conclusions from misunderstanding. Even when something is being explained she won't hear it.
I'm grateful there is a HEA, but by the first third of the book I had a feeling that Jule didn't deserve it.
It is well worth the listen and I am looking forward to the rest of the series, but the FMC made me face palm quite often.

First, I was surprised by the AI being no where near as bad as so many others I have heard.
The entire series has been an outstanding listen. It is well written and complex. I am sorry that it has finished, however I do intend on enjoying it over and over through the years. There are sexy times, but they are not overly detailed.
I would love to hear this with two narrators, male and female. I think that would put it over the top.
