Historia
A Look Inside: Sonnets, Quatrains, Pantoums and Other Poems, offers short descriptions of many styles of poetry, followed by original poems inspired by each of these styles. The author shows us that anything can be the seed of creativity needed to tell a story and share thoughts and opinions. Through writing, we can explore our own point-of-view, or imagine being someone or something else, and wondering how they think and feel.

A delightful anthology

I really enjoyed listening to all of these poems. I love that the author provided a brief description of the different types of poems and their history. I didn’t realize there were so many different types of poetry.
The narrator’s voice was clear and soothing. She excelled at bringing the author’s words to life. I would absolutely recommend this anthology to anyone who loves poetry!

Ever since that fateful knock weeks ago, I expected life to suddenly be brimming with adventure and magic.... Yet here I am, changing my cat’s litter and flossing like nothing ever happened. I mean, my best friend is a Fae princess, and there’s a magical bracelet fused to my body for goodness sakes! Shouldn’t something be different?

I love the concept of the story, but the execution leaves much to be desired. The first and second books could have been combined. Also the protagonist seems to suddenly become dumb once she goes to the fairy realm. She doesn’t trust a person she meets in her world and then suddenly puts all her trust in that person in the fairy world. Like the foreshadowing is there so we know that person is not trustworthy so it isn’t believable that the protagonist could be that naive. And then to try and spin it so she mistrusts the person she shouldn’t - that falls flat and made me want to throw my phone. Not a ton happens to love the story forward in the ultimate quest which makes the book feel unfinished. Also, sometimes there are sentences that stick out like a sore thumb because they overuse the same words within the same sentence. It’s a cool concept and has a lot of potential, but I will leave the series at book 2. The narrator is fine for the most part.

Great Package to Kick Off a Witchy Series

The main character is hard to like
Revisado: 08-15-22
It’s hard to enjoy a series when the main character is so selfish and always justifies her complete disrespect for her boyfriend. Even other characters remark on it, so the author is aware of it, but it makes me not want to go further with the series. Holly does whatever she wants and then when consequences catch up with her, she wallows in self pity. It’s a shame, because the world the author sets up is interesting and has great potential to be a great series, but I just cannot get past a protagonist that I don’t like.

Historia
Holly Boldt is a witch with a problem. Make that lots of problems. Following her banishment from the supernatural world, she is thrust into a halfway house for paranormal misfits like her. With a warring shifter and vampire roommate and a cantankerous ghost landlady, she's got a full plate. Unsurprisingly, she finds solace in the human residents of the small coastal town and begins to feel like maybe - just maybe - she could finally have a normal life. Until her best friend is accused of a murder she didn't commit.

A spirited factory worker on a mission. A nerdy manager with a propensity for puzzles. An unexpected adventure. Charmingly British and off-beat, Miscellaneous 0125 is a story about following your dreams, healing past traumas, and the joy of truly being understood.

Delightful surprise!
Revisado: 02-22-21
I wasn’t sure what i was listening to at first, but I stayed with it and I’m glad I did. It was a lovely short story and the voice actors did a wonderful job. The music and sound effects completed the world and made it easy to get caught up in the adventure along with the characters.
