Historia
It’s the night shift worker who finds them. Huddled in a hospital store cupboard is elderly Edith Higgins. Knifed to death. Sitting behind her is Staff Nurse Lily Frampton, a scalpel clasped in her blood-soaked hand. No one can understand why this kind-hearted, dedicated nurse would brutally murder a frail patient she’s spent months caring for. That same day, mild-mannered schoolteacher Rod Black is found surrounded by the battered bodies of his pupils. Why would a well-respected teacher beat five schoolboys to death?

Sad
Revisado: 04-30-25
I really liked the two books in this series and am sad there aren’t more. Maybe now that Joy is a well established author, she could revive the series. I’ll just have to hope for now.

Historia
Flower shop owner Ellie McEwan is driving home late one frosty November night when a shadowy figure leaps into the road out of nowhere. Ellie swerves to avoid him — and slams head-on into the crash barrier. Days later, Ellie wakes up in hospital — and notices there’s something different. Everyone she looks at — the doctor, the nurse, her friend Carole — is surrounded by a coloured aura. Her near-death experience seems to have given her a new ability. And now Ellie must use her new-found gift to catch a killer.

Good first try!
Revisado: 04-25-25
I really enjoyed the paranormal police procedural. It was a little thin, but a solid first book. I’m sad that the author decided she had to pick a genre. Now, there’s a ready, available and hungry audience for this type of story.

Audible hopes you enjoyed this program
Revisado: 04-15-25
Enjoy isn’t exactly the word I’d use to define my experience with this story. Shredded, maybe. Left with my heart torn out and tears rolling down my face, maybe. Oh my god this was so heart wrenchingly good. I almost wish it had been longer, but I don’t know that I could have handled much more. I am gutted. 5 stars across the board.

Good second offering
Revisado: 04-04-25
The story was good though rather dated at this point. I like the protagonist John Sanford has created and I look forward to seeing what John does with him. I hope he grows. If my eyes weren’t so bad, I’d look for more paper books in the series because the narrator is terrible and doesn’t do justice to the story with all his mispronunciations and lack of pauses between scenes. I’d call him more of a reader than a narrator. I like John Sanford and Lucas Davenport enough that I’ll stick with the audio series, but I sure wish they’d have changed the reader.

Meh
Revisado: 03-10-25
This story feels too fake and desperately needed a better editor if only to catch the grammatical mistakes. The characters weren’t terribly compelling and the story was pretty flat except for one chapter. It started with potential. Too bad it didn’t reach it.

This can’t be the end!
Revisado: 03-09-25
As always, Luke did a fantastic job reading Terry’s words. The bloopers were a nice touch. Terry, tell me this isn’t the end! I’m hoping that since there was a cliffhanger, there will be more. I’ll be saving a credit for when book 11 arrives.

Disappointing
Revisado: 02-07-25
After all the action and character development of the first four books, this was an incredibly disappointing ending to this story. It was way too short and the time jump along with the pop culture references chosen really made the whole thing crash to a halt when it smacked into a wall. It was terrible, like it was just phoned in, no heart, no soul, lots of things skipped over. I don’t want to go into much detail, kind of like the book, because of spoilers, so I’ll just repeat that this was an incredibly disappointing ending to this saga.

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

Not at all what I was expecting from this author, but wow, just wow! I am completely blown away and had a really hard time putting this book down. I am invested in this story and that’s not an easy thing to earn. She perfectly merges two of my favorite genres. I can’t wait to start the next in the series.

Historia
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

Fantastic surprise!
Revisado: 12-19-24
I got this book from the Plus catalog and it proceeded to get lost in my library only to make itself known again when it was about to expire. I’m forever grateful that it poked its head up. It was well written, hilarious and so very much on point for someone living in the suburbs and having to deal with a persnickety HOA. I laughed out loud. I cried. The sense of humor of the authors matched mine exactly and the narrator nailed it. It’s going in my wish list and I’ll be acquiring it asap. Very few books get a five star rating from me and stick with me once I’ve finished with them. This one will be sticking around for a while.

Musical interludes
Revisado: 11-26-24
There’s nothing I can say about the story. It’s Agatha Christie. This production was well done, mostly. The actors did a great job. The people who decided this production needed musical interludes between chapters and a song at the end, should have decided to leave them out, completely. They distracted from the story rather than adding anything at all useful or entertaining. Overall, worth the short time it takes to listen.
