Historia
Set in the 1950’s Paris of American expatriates, liaisons, and violence, a young man finds himself caught between desire and conventional morality. With a sharp, probing imagination, James Baldwin’s now-classic narrative delves into the mystery of loving and creates a moving, highly controversial story of death and passion that reveals the unspoken complexities of the human heart.

Only 10 percent of the world’s millionaires are women, making it difficult for women to wield the economic power that will create lasting equality. Whatever is stopping you from having seven figures in the bank - whether it’s shaky confidence, knowledge gaps when it comes to wealth-building tactics, imposter syndrome, a janky mindset about money (it’s okay, we’ve all been there!), or simply not knowing where to begin - this book shows you how to clear every obstacle in your way, show up, and glow up.

An Abundance of Strategies
Revisado: 08-04-21
Rodgers' book provides an abundance of strategies to launch or resuscitate one's business. One of the many stand-outs in this book is that Rodgers acknowledges the systemic challenges, bias and outright discrimination women, and especially women of color, face when it comes to money and business and that this should be even more reason for women to generate wealth. I love me a good motivational book but this book goes way beyond that with many money generating actions items. It's great that Rodgers also starts with a historical overview of women and wealth in the USA and highlights the amazing accomplishments of Madame CJ Walker. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Following her near-death experience as shared in the New York Times best-seller Dying to Be Me, Anita Moorjani knows well the truths that exist beyond common knowledge and acceptance. The clarity she has gained has led her to further understand who she was born to be. Part of that truth has involved contemplating the cultural myths infused into our everyday lives. Passed down from generation to generation, these myths are pervasive and influential.

Insightful and Inspiring Book
Revisado: 09-29-19
Moorjani beautifully recalls painful experiences with such honesty and grace - both in her past fearful state before her NDE and then in her present day worldview of living in Love not fear. Moorjani provides many examples of how one can do this in their own lives. I’m grateful that she narrated the book herself - no doubt a huge time commitment.

Historia
In this groundbreaking history of the modern American metropolis, Richard Rothstein explodes the myth that America's cities came to be racially divided through de facto segregation - that is, through individual prejudices, income differences, or the actions of private institutions like banks and real estate agencies. Rather, he incontrovertibly makes clear that it was de jure segregation - the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments - that actually promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.

Segregation by design
Revisado: 11-23-18
This book reveals why our communities have been, and many still remain, segregated. Rothstein masterfully illustrates a complicated and tragic part of our history in an accessible and clear manner. He discusses historical data in a way that is both informative and engaging. I've purchased both the paperback and audio version of this book. I highly recommend it.

34 Ways to Talk to a Narcissist: The Narcissistic Borderline Relationship Dynamic

Historia
The relationship duo between borderlines and narcissists tends to be more common than we think. There is no true way to get a good picture of how many relationships span this dynamic, as many borderlines and narcissists go undiagnosed or undetected. Most narcissists don't have the intuition, knowledge of their condition, or interest in their inner world to pursue why they are the way they are. It is unlikely that they would seek treatment because of their overinflated egos...

Historia
Ever since medical school, Dr. Christiane Northrup has been guided by an essential truth about the way our bodies, minds, and souls are intertwined. It's the same truth Edgar Cayce expressed in this famous formula: The spirit is life. The mind is the builder. The physical is the result. When we don't grasp this - when we view our bodily well-being in isolation - life can devolve into constant worry about our health and constant battling to make our bodies "behave".
