Historia
Willie grew up outside of Damascus, Virginia, and life was never easy for her. She’s a hard-as-nails single mom who struggles to make ends meet with little support and few opportunities. She’s also the community “rescue mom”, taking in young people with no other place to go. All this while dodging an ex-boyfriend turned stalker who also happens to be a cop. Willie only made it to adulthood by being resilient. That toughness, combined with a series of odd jobs and side hustles, helps keep her unorthodox family afloat.

Whoooooch
Revisado: 02-08-25
In the end of the book they finally started discussing how to deal with the coming ordeal. Finding two two man saws and som old wrought iron stoves. The 8 hours prior were “man bad! Woman scared by parents. Take wrath out on anyone that breaths over the age of 15.” I paid my money so I listened, thats it for this series. Whoooch!!!!

There was some questionable stuff but fairly entertaining and thought-provoking. Not sure how much I buy of the spectrum girl and the AI but maybe. Overall I’ll take it.

After years of service to Rome, Quintus Sertorius has exchanged the bloodshed of the battlefield for the tranquility of his farm. As rebel armies close in, Sertorius realizes his wife and child are in danger. The fate of his homeland is at stake, and he cannot ignore the call to arms.

Cannot wait for book vii. Have read the accounts of Sulla but Sertorious was unknown to me until this series. Understandably historical fiction, but still I have loved this series‘ take on a real roman figure.

Virtual voice is annoying.
Revisado: 11-16-24
There are no natural brakes. The narration just runs on and on and on sentence after sentence. You find yourself suddenly in a different aspect of the story because the paragraph seem to be interlinked without pause for separation annoying. glad I only paid four dollars.

Historia
When the end of the world arrived, it came not with a bang, as most expected, but with more of a "pfft" instead. Humanity has been torn asunder and brought to the edge of total annihilation in less than an hour. For those who died, it was a quick death, so fast that their brains didn't have time to process the pain signals from their nerves. For those who survived, the true horror is about to begin as they struggle to not only stay alive, but come to grips with the shocking realization about what - and who - was responsible.

Slooooow in the middle
Revisado: 07-17-24
I was interested in the beginning got really bored in the middle and the end was great as good as anything else Turney has written for the Praetorian series. I am curious how he will paint the return to Rome. I would think someone so military as Severus, would not be too forgiving of an abandoned post. I’m sure Turney will make it work I mean this is fiction. Though sometimes his farfetched escapes are eye rollers. In the end, it was very entertaining.

Slow and could not get into it.
Revisado: 06-22-24
I don’t know if the subject matter just didn’t interest me or the story in itself. It was slow and plodding, and the story focused on a guy not the daughter. Just overall blah I really like this author, but this was my least favorite thing of his I have listened to so far.

Historia
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

Tom Abrams is a great writer. The story is as good as his others. but I noticed his books are getting shorter and prices are going up. There’s no reason he couldn’t put two of these books together us and frankly it’s annoying.
