Historia
I expected aging out of the foster care system to be hard. I wasn't expecting it to include finding out I was a Warlock, destined to be hunted by the most powerful Witch Families so they could bind me to a coven of thirteen witches and spend the rest of my life "harvesting mana". Add to that a set of magical resonants that made me an even bigger target to some of those Witch Families, some of which would rather kill me than let a rival get me.

A Real story with Real characters!
Revisado: 01-31-25
I was so surprised to hear / read a book that maintained a believable story line. Events - feelings that happened were situations picked out of the reader’s beliefs that ‘they would totally relate’. I have to say that this is a work of art.
The story actually a selection error, even so, the best mistake I made in a while.

Historia
They came after the Diseray. Some were terrors ripped from our collective imaginations, remnants of every mythology across the world. And some were like nothing anyone had ever dreamed up, even in their worst nightmares. Now, the luckiest Cits live in enclosed communities, behind walls that keep them safe from the hideous monsters fighting to break through.

Well paced interesting story
Revisado: 03-20-24
Believable story with enough faces of the main character to seem real. Enough romantic dialogue and situations without being overly descriptive.
Characters are multidimensional and flawed. Insecure and brave.
Nice start to a series! Here’s hoping for more of the same!

Historia
This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Not sure why the reviews are so polar opposite.

Very descriptive and cohesive

I really tried to get into the story. ~8 hours worth. Imaginative world. I couldn’t wait for the overriding purpose of the main characters to emerge. Too bad. I’m sure it would be great.

Historia
After her daughter is kidnapped, Emmeline Highclere—a thirty-four-year-old mother living in isolation with memories and grief her only companion—must do everything in her limited power and divine abilities to get the girl back. Emmeline believes her daughter, Elora, is the Beloved—the conduit with goddess-granted divine abilities prophesied to bring peace to the Three Kingdoms. Because the last person thought to be the Beloved was brutally murdered by the enemy kingdom of Folterra, Emmeline has dedicated the last sixteen years to hiding her daughter and keeping her safe.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 08-22-23
I tried to get into the story. I struggled with the poor view the author has about men in general. I generally like strong female leads. Negative male dominate characters are part of any story but all men? Only listened to chapter four. Story had promise.
Narrator preformed exceptionally. I will be happy to hear her again!

Historia
Kodyn expected hardships along his journey to return a kidnapped girl to her father. Yet harsh deserts and cutthroat bandits prove far less lethal than the foes that await him in Shalandra, the City of the Dead. In the shadows of golden spires carved from mountain stone, currents of corruption and vice run deep. Priests of the god of death rule with an iron fist, imposing a rigid caste system that elevates some to a life of privilege and condemns others to miserable squalor.

Really tried
Revisado: 08-30-22
I really liked the ‘sample’ clip of the story and the good rated reviews spoke of a title worth a purchase. Four or five times I went back to this book trying to get into it. I couldn’t get past the narrator’s characterization of each of the main players. I listened carefully but got lost on the ‘who’ he was describing. Book would be a good read just not an Audible story.

Historia
Laz is a side-stepper: a teen with the incredible power to jump his consciousness to alternate versions of himself in parallel worlds. All his life, there was no mistake that a little side-stepping couldn’t fix. Until Laz wakes up one day in a cloning facility on a seemingly abandoned Earth. Laz finds himself surrounded by hundreds of other clones, all dead, and quickly realizes that he too must be a clone of his original self.

Excellent story and performance
Revisado: 04-22-22
Novel storyline with exceptional character development. Very believable world. I am hopeful there is a sequel coming or available. Excellent narration.
I wish I had the ability to act as either of the main characters. I only hope I would be as willing to do what was necessary.
Worth the time to listen and visit the story world!
