Historia
Jason Fairfax, a very junior reporter for the Honolulu Gazette, is sent by his editor on an assignment that requires him to travel on the luxury liner, the Oahu Paradise, in the company of a disreputable detective who promises him the scoop of his reporting lifetime—maybe. While on board, he meets a cross-section of people from movie stars to ensigns, but none more intriguing than the world-famous Honolulu inspector, Charlie Chan, and his very large family, who are vacationing on board. But all is not what it seems. Was a murder committed on board two years ago, or was it an accident? Is ...

I enjoyed the multiple storylines and a high-level recap of the events that led to Charlie Chan ending up in Hawaii. Having all 13 of his kids in the story was another plus. Thanks!

Great story and performance
Revisado: 06-13-20
The story was excellent. It had a lot of twists and turns, and a character cross-over that was fantastic. As for the performance, like a number of David Baldacci's audio books, there is both a male and female narrator, which I personally love. Maybe some listeners prefer hearing a person do voices for men and women, and some do it pretty well, but it's great to hear narrators who can focus on characters from one sex, especially when there's a lot of dialog and characters. Never read or listened to any of his works that I didn't enjoy. JS

Well worth the wait!
Revisado: 07-15-19
It's been a while since the last book in the series was written, and I had no idea what to expect. The story succeeded on many levels, including providing a fascinating (albeit shameful) backdrop to the events going on, to creating a tapestry of rich characters and unexpected twists and turns. An excellent read/listen!

Fantastic
Revisado: 02-06-19
Appropriately named, this book brings together just about all the major characters the author has created into one solid story. While very good as a stand-alone novel, you'll appreciate it even more if you've read a good sampling of his previous works. It's a book you won't want to put down, or stop listening to. It still amazes me that the author does the audio, moreover, that he does the audio so well.

Enjoyable change of pace

I'm typically a mystery/spy/comedy story enthusiast, but I really liked the Crazy Rich Asians movie and thought I'd give this a shot. Long but engaging and enjoyable. A nice change of pace for me.

Really good Spenser novel
Revisado: 11-12-18
Story: Really good. There's a lot going on to keep folks interested. Sure, it's the same strategy, poke around until someone makes a run at you, but there are a lot of interesting facets to the story such as.. doing the right thing even if it means helping bad people, the question of children in Spenser and Susan's life, and Spenser's mortality. Performance: Some voices just didn't come across well and, at times, the pace of the narration slowed down to the point where it seemed an extra effort was needed to get the words out properly. Fortunately, that was the exception, so overall I was very pleased. Overall: Highly recommended.

Historia
Wyoming's new governor isn't sure what to make of Joe Pickett, but he has a job for him that is extremely delicate. A prominent female British executive never came home from the high-end guest ranch she was visiting, and the British Embassy is pressing hard. Pickett knows that happens sometimes - these ranches are stocked with handsome young cowboys, and "ranch romances" aren't uncommon. But no sign of her months after she vanished? That suggests something else.
