The author is obsessed and totally codependent crazy about the woman he meets. Borderline creep asf. Very unhealthy.

Powerful read!
Revisado: 02-28-25
Ray’s experience are real and human, yet they lead him to beyond human experiences. Ray reads the book as if he is talking to you and just telling his story which he is doing. It is extremely powerful and I enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read his second book.

Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Historia
Long before the success of his bossa nova Grammy winner “The Girl from Ipanema”, Stan Getz was a fixture in the pantheon of jazz greats. From his recording of “Early Autumn” with the Woody Herman band in 1949, which catapulted him to stardom at age 22, to the 1961 jazz/classical masterpiece “Focus”, to the 1990 release of “Apasionado”, Getz’s 49-year career is a tale of enduring artistic success in the midst of a troubled life.

Should be renamed, Monica’s Story
Revisado: 05-14-23
This book pays particular attention to detail. At the end of the book I was marveled by the strength of Monica Getz, the second wife of Stanley. I think the title is inappropriate that it doesn’t mention her name first.
