Mediocre
Revisado: 03-14-21
Just okay at best. Narration is okay, except all the men sound like they still need to go through puberty. Too much teen angst. Would be okay as a YA novel. Maybe it would be more relatable to that audience.

Historia
It was supposed to be a simple bank robbery. Quick. Clean. Efficient. It was none of those. With police searching for them across the state, a band of criminals hide out in a desolate cabin on the frozen shore of Lake Shadow. Isolated, shrouded in thick forest, and haunted by a mysterious history, they thought it was the perfect place to hide. Tensions mount as they hear strange noises outside. Slain animals are found in the snow. Before long, they realize something is watching them. Something hungry, violent, and not of this world.

Dumbest Ending Ever
Revisado: 01-03-21
The narrator was okay. The story was a cross between a crime story, a sci-fi horror attempt, and the dumbest romance entanglement. Oh, and the ending, after wading through over 6 hours...really? That's the ending?!

Historia
When Pentagon bioterror operative Roberto Diaz was sent to investigate a suspected biochemical attack, he found something far worse: a highly mutative organism capable of extinction-level destruction. He contained it and buried it in cold storage deep beneath a little-used military repository. Now, after decades of festering in a forgotten sub-basement, the specimen has found its way out and is on a lethal feeding frenzy. Only Diaz knows how to stop it.

Still love it after listening 3 times
Revisado: 08-15-20
The first listen was "Okay, pretty good, interesting...narration, questionable but okay" . Second listen was "How did I miss that the first time? This is better than I first thought. The narration is actually perfect for the different characters.". The third listen was " This is actually awesome. I love how what seems at first glance to be extraneous background information is brought into focus on the building of the story and the characters, making their decisions and actions likely and logical. " And, the narrator continued to grow on me. He is quite excellent at bringing the different characters to life. His voice for Teacake is perfect in my opinion. And, finally, I may never look at a snow globe the same. It was a nice touch.

What happened to Peter Clines?
Revisado: 03-31-19
I can't believe this was written by Peter Clines. To say I am disappointed can not begin to explain the degree of disappointment I'm experiencing. I preordered this book and waited eagerly for a continuation of the quality and intelligent themes found in 14 and The Fold - since this is presented as a part of a "series". I have listened to both those books dozens and dozens of times and I can tell you that this book has absolutely nothing to do with those two books - NOTHING! To present this as such almost feels like a bait and switch.
I don't have to explain how bad this book is, or the fact that it's about zombies on the moon for god's sake and not about the dimensional themes present in 14 and The Fold. And I am sorry but it is just plain bad. There are no characters that I cared about and I actively disliked the main character who was whiney and self obsessed.
I listened to the very end. It was painful but I really wanted to give the book a fair shot because I really love this author. This book has no redeeming qualities. If I had known in advance that it was about zombies on the moon I wouldn't have purchased it - stories like that are a dime a dozen and getting really, really old.
It's just another poorly told zombie book. Nothing to see here. Move along. Don't waste your time or money. The Fold and 14 are in a class of their own, and remain so.

Historia
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

Narrator should at least listen to the news
Revisado: 10-10-18
The book is great. Gregg Jarrett really lays things out there and he's a really good writer. The narrator on the other hand seems to have never ever listened to a news cast in his life. He got most of the names so wrong that it actually took a bit to figure out who he was talking about! If the information wasn't so good I would have given up - it was so annoying! The material is very serious but the narrator made it a joke because it was apparent he had no idea who the players were. That part was terrible. I had wanted to give this a second listen, but I just can't do it. Gregg Jarrett would do himself a favor if this was re-released and he narrated it himself.

With little time to prepare for the storms, NASA recruits doctors Sophie Winston and Emanuel Rodriguez to help monitor the solar weather. At first, the duo believes they have been hired for a routine project. But when arriving at the Johnson Space Center they quickly realize they haven't been told everything about their mission.

Eight Minutes
Revisado: 01-11-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No. There are only 8 minutes of short story. The rest is the first part of Book 1.
What could Nicholas Sansbury Smith have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Have the short story actually be a short story and not just a prologue that should have been in the first book.
Which scene was your favorite?
There wasn't enough of a story to have any kind of impression.
Do you think Solar Storms needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I think it should be advertised as what it actually is.
Any additional comments?
I really like this author so this was a massive disappointment.

Worst. Narrator. Ever.
Revisado: 06-09-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Definitely Not. I had to stop. I couldn't take it any more. I managed to get through the first book of the series but I couldn't stand listening after the first couple of pages of the second book and I listened to the rest of series of books with text-to-speech.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Well of Shiuan?
The whole Book of Morgaine is absolutely wonderful. It is one of my all time favorite stories and I think I've read it at least a dozen times over the years.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
This is the worst narrator I have ever listened to. She speaks so quickly it sounds like she's trying to get through the story as fast as humanly possible. Also, her voice is high pitched and irritating and breathy all at the same time. Her narration completely ruined the listening experience for me.
Was Well of Shiuan worth the listening time?
Not with this narrator. It is better to buy the book and listen with text-to-speech.
Any additional comments?
Reissue this with a different narrator!
