Historia
We already rely on science to tell us what to eat, when to exercise, and how long to sleep. Why not use science to help us improve our relationships? In this revolutionary book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller scientifically explain why some people seem to navigate relationships effortlessly, while others struggle.

Love that they go through the research as well as many practical examples. The many stories help me understand the subject matter better.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Pretty simple life philosophy ramblings
Revisado: 10-04-24
I have read other books my Mark Manson, like the one on Will Smith and Models. Those had much clearer purpose and focus. This is more like listening to a high friend ramble on about the meaning of life. The book isn't terrible. I'm sure for a lot of people there are golden self-help nuggets to be found. But it lacks a clear direction and scientific rigour that should underpin much of success-advice like this.

Annoying to buy a book only to be told a sales pitch every 5 min
Revisado: 09-08-23
It's a decent small framework for how to grow a small business. But it's not that pleasant to listen to this framework in audiobook format since it's more of a checklist than anything else. It's also annoying that the author can't go 5 minutes without trying to sell you his other products

Historia
A groundbreaking book about personal growth that presents a uniquely effective set of five tools that bring about dynamic change. The Tools offers a solution to the biggest complaint patients have about therapy: the interminable wait for change to begin. The traditional therapeutic model sets its sights on the past, but Phil Stutz and Barry Michels employ an arsenal of techniques - "the tools" - that allow patients to use their problems as levers that access the power of the unconscious and propel them into action.

Turned into new age self help real quick
Revisado: 04-24-22
I was honestly expecting a lot more from this. It seems outdated based on the prevailing psychological methods of treatment. Interesting to note too that Stutz apparently was struggling with depression himself, but had no idea, and still doesn't know as evidenced by the fact he listed himself having many symptoms of depression but yet failed to ever categorize it as such.

Historia
If we all want love, why is there so much conflict in our most cherished relationships? To answer this question we must look into our evolutionary past, argues prominent psychologist David M. Buss. Based one of the largest studies of human mating ever undertaken, encompassing more than 10,000 people of all ages from 37 cultures worldwide, The Evolution of Desire is the first work to present a unified theory of human mating behavior.

Historia
In Happy Derren Brown explores changing concepts of happiness - from the surprisingly modern wisdom of the Stoics and Epicureans in classical times right up until today, when the self-help industry has attempted to claim happiness as its own. He shows how many of self-help’s suggested routes to happiness and success – such as positive thinking, self-belief and setting goals – can be disastrous to follow and, indeed, actually cause anxiety. Happy aims to reclaim happiness and to enable us to appreciate the good things in life, in all their transient glory.

A bit academic and dreary. Felt like a textbook

While Derren is certainly a smart chap, he tries a bit too much to be smart, always using the most complicated set of words to explain his points. Maybe reading it would have been better than listening to it
