Historia
As changes loom at Bexford police station, Detective Sergeant Guy Poole seeks a distraction and finds it in the camaraderie of a village pub team. But when one of his new friends is murdered, Poole quickly realizes that he and his new partner must learn to work together seamlessly, or risk letting the killer slip through their fingers. “This final book of the series is one of the best. It’s packed with action and has so many characters that it’s a challenge to figure out who the murderer is. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and highly recommend it to everyone.”

The virtual voice, dreadful! This took away from enjoying the story. I have enjoyed A. G. Barnett in the past, but I’ll never listen to v virtual voice again.

Erebus Resort, occupying a magnificent, hundred-thousand acre valley deep in the Colorado Rockies, offers guests the experience of viewing woolly mammoths, Irish Elk, and giant ground sloths in their native habitat, brought back from extinction through the magic of genetic manipulation. When a billionaire's son and his new wife are kidnapped and murdered in the Erebus back country by what is assumed to be a gang of eco-terrorists, Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Frances Cash partners with county sheriff James Colcord to track down the perpetrators.

I was disappointed in the language. Mostly profane. In my collection I have almost 40 Preston&Child…Preston…Child books and have loved most of them. Never before have I felt an assault of profanity to this degree. I’m a Catholic and saddened by the blasphemous use of the name of God and his Son. Douglas, please consider returning to using language more appropriate of the gift you possess.

Scott brick is one of the best to ever do it
Revisado: 03-15-24
One of the weaker entries in the pendergast series, especially following the stellar run of cabin of curiosities still life with crows and brimstone, this thriller nonetheless keeps the reader engage in the second half, much like their original work relic. it sets the stage for a fantastic climax in their next book

Historia
Thirteen-year-old Habo has always been different - light eyes, yellow hair, and white skin. Not the good brown skin his family has and not the white skin of tourists. Habo is strange and alone. His father, unable to accept Habo, abandons the family; his mother can scarcely look at him. His brothers are cruel, and the other children never invite him to play. Only his sister, Asu, loves him well. But even Asu can't take the sting away when the family is forced from their small Tanzanian village, and Habo knows he is to blame.

Ron Butler really did justice to Golden Boy. I loved reading Tara Sullivan’s book when it came out years ago, but listening to it being read was, to me, a more powerful telling of the story of albinism through Habo’s eyes. Well done! I loved it!

Finally, Flora Hyde-Clare has wrest the narrative from Beatrice by finding her own compelling murder mystery to solve. Well, it’s not entirely her own because the victim is her cousin’s former beau Mr. Theodore Davies, whose father cruelly separated the young lovers (though not so cruelly, for it left the door open for Bea to woo the duke of Kesgrave).

Disappointing
Revisado: 03-11-21
I enjoyed the previous stories by Lynn Messina, but this was annoying to listen to. Jill Smith portrayed the character of Bea’s cousin to perfection, even so, the overall effect was disappointing. I hope that she will not have a prominent part in future novels.

Hope for the hopeless
Revisado: 02-27-21
This story brought me to unexpected tears. It was beautifully written. It is hard to believe that the lives of the miners and their families have not changed much in five hundred years. This is a lovely book that can bring hope to the school children of the Cerro Rico. The narrator, Gisela Chile was an excellent choice. It is the first time I have heard her read, she did a great job.
