Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Easily the best book I've read this year. It has all you could ask for in a great book, witty narration, great character development, and incredible plot. Best read for sure.

Terrible in every aspect
Revisado: 01-04-25
Easily the worst book I've ever had the misfortune of reading, and I've read Fourth Wing. The characters were one-dimensional and easily forgettable, and the "plot" was so sexually objectifying I skipped whole chapters. If I could give this book zero stars I would.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Overhyped Smut
Revisado: 06-18-24
I bought Fourth Wing based off of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I love that this book is getting non fantasy people into the genre because if this is the caliber of writing that gets classified as "good" then the bar is low.
Fourth Wing has no real story, we hear about some "war" but we never learn much about the world, or war, or anything beyond the main character's overactive libido. If I could give the story a zero out of five I would.

Probably not what you expected.
Revisado: 12-06-20
I came into this novel thinking it would be completely different from what it actually was. After reading the first three novels I developed a fondness for those I believed were the main characters: Adolin, Kaladin, Dalinar, and Shallan. If you could say Oathbringer was mainly about Dalinar, Rhythm of War is about Novani and Venli. I feel that this book doesn't advance the plot nearly as much as the other books in the series and also doesn't have nearly as dramatic an ending.
With all of that said, Rhythm of War satisfied in so many other ways. I learned to understand the Parshendi and gained an understanding of their culture. I learned that Novani is a badass in her own right and she definitely grew into one of my favorite characters. I loved this book but I would definitely recommend that you go into it with the understanding that some of your favorite characters take a back seat in this one.

Brilliant Conclusion to a 20 year Journey
Revisado: 11-24-18
I cannot even begin to describe the rollercoaster of emotions the Realms of The Elderlings evoked within me over the last couple months. I cried with a young Fitz as Nosey spent his last breath saving him from that shallow pool. I shared Fitz's hatred of Galen and took vindictive satisfaction at his death. I cried buckets of tears at the death of Burrich, and rejoiced at the rebirth of dragons. This series will always and forever have a place in my heart, thank you Robin for introducing us to these fantastic characters and for taking readers like me along for the ride.

Fantastic Story, Poor Narration
Revisado: 11-01-18
I absolutely adored the series and this book is just another welcomed addition, however I can't stand the way the narrator voices certain characters.
Fitz Vigilant sounded like he had his mouth wired shut the entire time and took unnecessarily long pauses throughout almost every sentence he spoke and Rain sounded like an adolescent child.
Again it was a fantastic story, just poorly narrated.

The Iron Druid Chronicles will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first introduction into the Urban Fantasy genre and I am grateful for it's existence. However, the series wrapped up waaaaaaaayy too quickly and in a way that left much to be desired.
