Interesting story, but
Revisado: 05-09-24
This must have been an early Virtual voice narration, the voice is terrible with all the wrong inflections. It is so distracting, you have a hard time hearing the story.

Historia
It's been eighty years since Thorn split his people into six societies spread across the galaxy. He's known all that time a timeline shift was coming, and the role he needed to play when it did. The mages of his world are ready, including his great-great nephew, Bud. For Bud, living in the shadow of his legend relative hasn't really been an issue, and his role in the timeline shift is supposed to be minor. But Kali has an agenda, magic has its own agenda, and since Thorn is old, and tired of his people's reliance on him, he too has an agenda.

Virtual voice reduced my enjoyment of this title.
Revisado: 01-28-24
Once again, Virtual voice has not come through. Where the tonal quality of the voice used is very pleasing, Poor use of inflection is very distracting. Also, there is very little variant between character voices which make the narration confusing at times.

"It started out with a bang and just got better." -Goodreads reviewer Over 1,000 pages of nonstop action! If there's one thing Adam Eckhart knows, it's that humans are trouble. After all, he is one. As captain of the Marathon, a cobbled-together ship crewed by aliens and androids scraping by on odd jobs at the outskirts of settled space, Adam has plenty to worry about without adding his own species to the mix. But when a pair of mortally wounded humans cross his path during a heist gone wrong, he finds himself compelled to save them. Big mistake. Because if there's one more thing Adam knows...

Good story
Revisado: 01-18-24
This was a very good story and I listened with interest because this was my first Virtual Voice narration.
The narration was clear and crisp but uninspired. There was little attempt to change voices with characters which for me helps to follow the story easier. If we are going o us this type of AI, then please give it better examples and instructions.

Historia
Once every four years, the Earth Alliance Naval Academy is included in a war game...or rather, the Wargame: On a distant frontier colony, cadets must repair, recommission, and crew a fleet of old, mothballed warships for a simulated fleet action against a group of seasoned veterans using top-of-the-line warships. After some meddling on the part of the Admiralty, many of the Academy's best are assigned to the oldest, smallest hulk in the Wargame, the unfortunately named corvette, Chihuahua.

painfully Amateurish
Revisado: 11-15-23
It is seldom that I can not finish a book, but after 2.5 hours I had to put this book down. I tried, but I just could not take it anymore. The Performance was acceptable but the writing was the definition of Amateurish to the point of being painful.

I had to put it down, between the narration and the story, I only made it about 1/3 of the way through. I normally really enjoy Gay romance.

The plot for this series is excellent. Unfortunately, the writing is almost painfully poor. a rewrite would make this a really enjoyable book/series.

Historia
Killashandra Ree was drawn like a magnet to the song of crystal, and now it's erasing her memory. She knew the forgetfulness would be a byproduct of the singing, and she doesn't mind the little annoyances, like being unable to remember her address or the names of her colleagues. But she hadn't counted on the loneliness a person can feel when the heart still remembers what the mind has forgotten. Can the crystal that destroyed her memory somehow restore it?

Revisado: 03-18-23
I have loved this book for many years, I was VERY disappointed to hear the poor narration and very poor production quality. The Narrator read far too fast and did not do different voices very well. The sound quality is very poor and the editing is choppy.

Historia
The exhilarating adventures of Anne McCaffrey's bestselling Crystal Singer series continue with Killashandra, a story that mixes interplanetary political intrigue with passionate romance. In this installment, Killashandra Ree's crystal claim has been exhausted, forcing her to take a new assignment and leave her new lover back on their native Ballybran. She goes undercover on a distant, desolate planet, searching desperately for the crystal that will save her—and, quite possibly—determine the fate of the entire universe.
