Realistic dialogue and refreshingly has more plot than sex scenes

I think this story was really good with only a partially predictable ending. It put me in the mind of pride and prejudice. I was also thankful that it had a brief love scene that wasn’t nauseatingly repetitive nor made me feel like I was reading soft porn. I really appreciated that! It had an interesting ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this read!

I really enjoy this series. The dialogue between the male characters actually seem genuine. It’s like the author overheard a real conversation and wrote everything down. I laughed a lot too.

Underwhelming

I was disappointed. There is wayyyyy too much internal monologues. The story seemed to be building at first but then went flat until the end. The ending had serious holes and felt a bit like lazy writing to me. This book was meh.

Such a shame

This story started off with a really interesting plot. Although it reminded me of Hunger Games, it seemed like it was going to be a good story. I like that the lead female character is strong and independent minded but the story was slowed down by an over abundance of internal monologues and unnecessarily painfully detailed descriptions. The plot was great but the overall read ended up being irritating and ultimately torturous. 😢

Plot ran off a cliff

The first few chapters were interesting but then after the two main characters met in a cafe it’s like the plot took a nosedive into stupidity. Very disappointing. I struggled to finish this. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. Such a shame.

Too many sex scenes. It was annoying

I love paranormal romance novels. This one might have been better if almost EVERY CHAPTER didn’t have a srx scene. I was more like reading porn than a romance novel. It got in the way of the actual storyline which was actually pretty good. We didn’t get far enough into the story before the book ends on a cliff hanger probably because too much of the story was taken up by a ridiculous amount of sex scenes! I am so annoyed!!

Not sexy just vulgar

The overall story was interesting but the vulgarity just brought me out of the story. I don’t like the p word and when spoken by a woman it just makes it worse. Also, I don’t know why authors think a man licking his fingers after manually stimulating his partner is sexy. It’s not! It’s just gross. It just makes me cringe and takes me out of the moment and the story.

No damsel in distress

This is a good story with a romance that builds slowly. I like that the female character is every bit as strong and capable as the male. I hate damsel in distress stories. My only critique is that they are far too many sex scenes. I know that this is a romance novel but they can hardly get anything done for needing to stop and either pleasure themselves or each other. It was too much and annoying.

I loved this story. I thought it was unique and I liked that it ended up being an origin story. I like that the author didn’t slow down the story with a ridiculous sex scene while the characters were running for their lives.
