At times it was so hard to tell, if the Maggie in the first story was the same throughout the different short stories. However, as people grow and change so do the interpretations of that person. In short every character had a different encounter with her so their perception of her was different.
The constants that seem to run throughout the characters life was that she took whatever she wanted regardless of who it hurt or who's life it disrupted.
Also, she was not afraid to lie cheat ,gaslight or kill whomever she needed to in order to protect herself.
She was completely unethical in regards to gathering subjects for her books.
in short a devastatingly awful human being with a license to play around in your head and virtually never held accountable for it

Note to author; Please don't use computer generated voice readers, it absolutely ruins what could have been an entertaining story. computer voices don't understand sarcasm, humor or any other emotive quality and so the timing is off and the words fall flat, it will ruin your story, all your hard work...poof!

I loved the series except for one thing; when people without a real Southern accent try to fake one throughout the book it it bery jarring to my senses.
