A classic thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Crichton, Sphere is a bravura demonstration of what he does better than anyone: riveting storytelling that combines frighteningly plausible, cutting-edge science and technology with pulse-pounding action and serious chills.

Tiresome story
Revisado: 06-22-24
I used the story to fall asleep, characters were unbelievable and the story just dragged on with complete stupidity.

Historia
The Eden Project was a dream. To start the first extra-solar colony... To avoid the mistakes of our past... To start anew. Three generations, born and raised on a starship hurtling through space. To never know an open sky... To never feel the wind on their face... To never witness the sun rise or set. It is up to the advance team to set foot on each of these worlds, conduct their surveys, and send their findings back to the colony ship. So many questions... So little time... Such an enormous responsibility.

Started well, then just went stupid
Revisado: 06-01-24
What is it with writers who write their characters as stupid and there is no consideration for common sense. This story just gets more stupid as you go. Lazy writing. Good God humanity couldn’t survive with these characters, and what’s more amazing is all the reviews that think it’s great. Yea humanity is doomed from stupidity.

Just bad
Revisado: 05-26-24
There is no logic behind half of the actions that occur. The story just becomes unbelievable, the characters don’t act like normal people would. Yea, you can do an archaeological dig in four hours, and the Catholic Church has a private army to try to quiet anything anti Christian. Could only listen to the first in the series, won’t listen to any others.

I wasn’t supposed to survive. The station has been hit. Everyone around me is dead. I have 11 hours of life support left and no way of contacting Earth. I’m alone. I’m stranded. I’m desperate. But I’m alive. The more of the station I explore, the surer I get that this was no accident. Someone did this, and I don't think they're finished yet.

This story just becomes completely stupid at times. It’s comical how the main character acts and responds to events.

Historia
Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. It looks like an organised data stream, being broadcast over what he calls a quantum radio. Could it be a signal from another universe? A message sent from the future? Or something else entirely?

Good story but just like the first book is ruined by virtual voice. Inflections wrong, mispronounced words. Don’t think I’ll listen to anymore virtual voice books.

Juvenile, just okay a series.
Revisado: 04-03-24
So I’ve listened to the whole series. It’s like listening to the old Mack Bolin books. The narrator is overly dramatic, the author repeats certain lines and evidently likes or only thinks he knows what a chain gun is, and God help humanity if people are this stupid in the future.

Juvenile best description
Revisado: 03-28-24
Everything about this was just juvenile. Obviously no military experience. Every interaction between characters was just poorly written. This was my first and last of these books.
