I wasn’t sure exactly what I expected when I heard about Fan Fiction, but after listening, it was exactly what I hoped for. Full disclosure, I’m a pretty big Star Trek fan, TNG in particular, and have definitely attended cons and met the author a few times. I’m also a huge audiobook fan, an appreciate unique productions. If you’ve enjoyed cozy mysteries, audio productions with a full cast, or Douglas Adams, this audiobook is for you. The themes of the cost of fame and childhood trauma were unsurprisingly handled with an accessible and humorous wit. Not too heavy, but I’ll still be thinking about it for days.

I’ve only recently become a fan of St. Vincent and loved learning more about Annie. Where have I been the past decade?
This was a really great production combining music and storytelling. Definitely recommended!

This story was everything I needed to help me through the drudgery of pandemic-era housework. I loved that one of the main characters is pansexual, like myself. And the inclusion of a non-binary character was excellent as well. "Les-fic" definitely needs to evolve to represent the true rainbow of the LGBTQIA+ community, and this book feels like its a step in the right direction. I also appreciated that one of the main characters seemed a bit neuro-diverse, possibly on the spectrum, and that those differences were celebrated and part of the development of the romance. I've already listened to it once more!

Touching and entertaining!

I saw Byron Lane's play (Tilda Swinton Answers an Ad on Craigslist) in NYC several years ago and was an instant fan. Based on his play (so much deeper and more affecting than the title might suggest), I was so excited to listen to this book when it was announced. It exceeded my high expectations. I wanted to devour it, but made myself slow the pace. I JUST finished it, and was so moved I had to write a review. Charlie's journey and growth is something so many people can identify with. "****ring" will forever hold so much more meaning for me.

I loved this one, especially the world building of the celebrity-singer's life. I've listened to several Georgia Beers' books with the Audible Escape package, but used a credit for this one. Well worth it! I'd love a sequel...

Like always, Tavia Gilbert performs Jeaniene Frost’s characters amazingly well. The story kept me super interested; it was difficult not to devour it all at once! Cannot wait for the next installment!
