Historia
In the heart of Niafell, in the Kingdom of Valyria the kingdom of legend and lore, there exists a forge run by Thane Ironfist, a dwarf blacksmith known far and wide for his unrivaled skill. His fiery domain is a canvas for his artistry, each stroke of his hammer echoing through the city, mirroring the pulse of Valyria itself. Yet, in this bastion of dwarven tradition, the keen eye will spot an anomaly - Lyra Frostwhisper, a young Snow Elf. Under the grizzled Thane's tutelage, she hones her craft, her determination lighting up the forge brighter than any flame. Together, they shape not just ...

at first I thought, wonderful, a magical blacksmith Story where they actually focus on the craft instead of it being a footnote in the story. But every time they were working on a piece it kept describing how she realized that it wasn't just a piece they were working on but a part of history and how they were it's keeper. it was fine the first four times it happened but man this was every five minutes or so. im pretty sure it took up most of the book. The virtual voice was ok i guess. it kept pronouncing bow as in bow of the ship instead of bow and arrow context. but I think subconsciously my brain new it was an artificial voice because I just couldn't focus on it for long. it was monotone and really droned sometimes.
a redeaming quality though was the pieces the blacksmiths were working on. they were creative and interesting especially the last job but maybe instead of saying over and over how they realize that they are the preservers and custodians of history through their work, take some time and describe a story of the person who wielded said weapon. not a bad book but I hope the next one will but much better composed

He did a great job adding humor to the series as well as making new characters fit well. the character development was great too
Revisado: 02-27-24
dwarves have always been a favorite of mine ever since I saw Peter Jackson's lord of the rings and later the Hobbit. Markus was right when he said he was worried about people's preconceived notion of what dwarves should be. But I can honestly say he did a fantastic job of keeping true to my preconceived notions of dwarves while adding new and cool ideas of how own that adds to the mix instead of taking away from it . well done Markus looking forward to the rest of the series.

Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

it's a classic for a reason
Revisado: 10-24-20
I have finished frankenstein and now Dracula. both were written brilliantly and I now understand why Dracula has lasted through the ages even as a horror story. The cast did a fantastic job and I would recommend it to any reader or listener.

Historia
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

As with all horror, this is not a happy story but written so well that it held me captive to the end even though I have already known the story for many years
