Historia
A window is but a piece of glass through which we view the world outside. It is not meant to distort. It is not intended to do anything but show us things as they are. At Oxford, though, there is a very particular window that reveals a very particular view. It is a view that defies all laws of nature and science. And when a detective is called in to investigate, he is startled to find that view opens a window into his own life–and a mystery he has never been able to solve.

Unique full cast short story worth it!
Revisado: 04-09-24
The Earworms series continues to impress—short, generally well-performed, original, and fun. Sometimes, the performances can be a bit over the top, and the supporting sound effects may be mixed a bit high for my tastes, but overall, these are entertaining tidbits at a great price!! Recommended.

Virtual Voice getting abit monotonous
Revisado: 04-09-24
I was given a copy of this book by freeaudiobookcodes in exchange for this independent review.
Although conceptually sound, this offering has several glaring research errors and editing issues. Additionally, I believe I share many listeners' opinions of the "virtual voice" product. Namely, it is boring, apt for mispronunciation, and is used far too often.
I could recommend it if this book was edited better and utilized a quality human performer. However, those circumstances are lacking. Therefore, it is not recommended.

Historia
In the depths of an ancient Egyptian tomb, archaeologists make a baffling discovery: the mummified body of a man clad in a space suit. Halfway around the globe, exobiologist Dr. Katherine Shepard and intelligence officer Colonel Devon Peters are summoned to the site of a downed UFO. To their amazement, they find one of the occupants alive. Even more shocking, he appears to be human. As Shepard and Peters delve deeper into the enigma, they expose a chilling truth: aliens have inhabited Earth far longer than anyone could have imagined, and they are not alone.

Modest start to a new series
Revisado: 03-18-24
This review is being provided in exchange for a free copy from freeaudiobookcode.com
Candidly, this first offering in a new series is just so-so. There is nothing terrible about it, per se, but nothing extraordinary. At times, it veers into being somewhat simplistic, and at other times, it can be shrill. Gary Tiedemann's performance is workmanlike, although it can be a bit over the top, like the writing.
I am somewhat split on recommending this one. If you pick it up, do so with open eyes ( and ears! )

Intriguing start to a new series
Revisado: 03-18-24
I knew I was in for a treat when I saw Jonathan Keeble narrating this book. I was not disappointed! This book spans the years with a fascinating mix of history, mystery ( yes, some violence ), and suspense. Candidly, if a different narrator had been used, it might not have been as compelling, but Keeble does his usual outstanding job of bringing the story and the characters to life.

Isaiah, ex-Tracker, and Rebecca, ex-bartender, searched, always turning back to the silver ring that still shone with her psychic energy to remind them not to give up. Kerry Sheridan was alive. Isaiah didn't want to think about it, and wouldn't tell Rebecca, but - if they found her, would she know them? Would she still be the person they knew?

Enjoyable/creative take on classic good v evil .
Revisado: 03-13-24
The good...for huge fans, this one is clearly the start of a series.
The better...a strong performance by Logan McAillister, as usual. He is moving up my list of preferred voice actors.
The less than perfect...I am not as much of a Grissom fan as some of the reviewers. That said, I enjoyed the twists, the atmosphere and the blurring of lines.
Pretty highly recommended, to be honest.

Another decent "Da Vinci Code" clone
Revisado: 12-23-23
This is a well-researched historical religious thriller in the Aiden Leonardo series. There is a serious need to edit this for length, but the various story arcs buzz along. Enough speculation and "what if this happened" keep the listener engaged.
Seth Regis owns this performance, however. There is a large range of accents, character types, and general chaos, but Seth Regis navigates it with aplomb.
Recommended, especially for aficionados of this genre.

Revisado: 12-23-23
Wow, this one caught me off guard! Several plot arcs run simultaneously, which all collide at the end. ( No spoilers here! )
A unique take on spirituality, etc. As much character-driven as plot-driven
Adam Riley put forth a very solid performance.
It is an above-average offering and highly recommended.

Historia
The stories of The Path of Most Resistance feature curious nonconformists who find themselves pushing back against strange and oppressive social norms. They are mavericks who transgress the boundaries of convention in their strive for freedom and authenticity. No matter if they’re in a Silicon Valley office, the far reaches of space, or dystopian futures where relationships are subjected to totalitarian control, the characters show unshakable conviction in a world plagued with uncertainty.

Another entry into the Dystopian Journal Olympics!
Revisado: 08-10-23
This collection is from the strong Abraham/Pierce combo. At this point, we are all used to the "end of times survivor" schtick that Kevin Pierce convincingly pulls off time after time. Not to say it's not a good, solid listen, but he can be a bit repetitive in tone and voice. ( The content is certainly not his fault )
Abrahams is solid here as well. Cadence, characters, and consistency are found throughout.
Adding it up, this is a modestly original take on a Dystopian journal story, well crafted and presented.
Recommended.

Alternative Recent US History
Revisado: 01-04-23
Abit out of my normal category of audiobooks, but I found this one entertaining and creative. Real-life characters are brought to life and put in situations far beyond what took place. The storyline crackles but could have benefited from some aggressive editing, as it tended to be stretched out in places.
I recommend it for genre fans ( Political alternative history, that is ).
