I have read all of the books in the series. I love how all of FMC are unique and relatable. She is a true baddie! The MMC is my favorite so far. I love the world building and it is helpful if you have read the other books.

Great story and character development. This is not your usually romantafantasy. The world that the story takes place in is fascinating. The spice level was perfect for me.

I am befuddled as to why so many like this series. The story is very predictable. It is hard to understand why they are so flippant about their friends’ death. The romantic relationships are toxic at best.

Big man fixes all woman’s problems

This story is very problematic. Listen up ladies, if you have sever childhood trauma and PTSD, all you need is a big man to love you and not any of that silly therapy.

Why do so many like this?

I saw several recommendations for this book. It started out really slow and tedious. The characters are insufferable. Then finally the story started to pick up and I was so hopeful it was going to get better. It never did. I am seriously mad I wasted my time on it. The author is able to write flowery descriptions but can’t come up with a single like able character.

Still shaking my head no

What a terrible kids book with a cast of characters that are self entitled and go around breaking laws. I am also so confused by the pushing of an animal rights and yet condoning the purchase of designer dogs.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Had not every character cursed to excess, this might have been better. Had there not been pornographic scenes, this might have been tolerable. Had there not been stomach turning gore, I might have not completly hated this book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I am going back to authors I know and have enjoyed. I think I will pass the next time I see the bargain downloads.

The performance was enjoyable but the story was terrible.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Shady Palms?

I think that about 40% of the story should have been edited out. Actually there was no part that should have been published.

The story was truly intolerable. I can't believe there wasn't some sort of warning with the amount of vulgarity.
