The auto narration makes the story hard to follows
Revisado: 02-21-24
When the storyline switches from one sister to the next, there is no change in the narration so it’s hard to figure out what’s really going on on

Historia
Written in the then fashionable style form of letters between the characters in the book, Jane Austen tells the story of the beautiful widow Lady Susan. Lady Susan has an eye toward re-marrying well, and marrying off her teenage daughter. To achieve her objectives, she spins a tale of Victorian humor and manipulation. In the end, she outsmarts even herself. Jane Austen's earliest known serious work, Lady Susan is a short, epistolary novel that portrays a woman bent on the exercise of her own powerful mind and personality to the point of social self-destruction.

The podcast speaker
Revisado: 10-21-22
The podcast speaker needs to at least read over his material a couple of times before he reads to the public he stumbles over words and it makes him sound barely literate. It’s distracting and takes away from the message that he’s trying to get out. I am not sure if it’s the performance or just the material but I am not willing to listen more than the 5 minutes I have already invested.

Great book awful to the point of comedy narration
Revisado: 04-24-21
This book is good, great even. But the narrator makes Joe sound like Patrick Walburton (comedienne best know as the voice of Kronk from The Emperors New Groove) it’s weird And jarring to hear a known character read in such a way!

Wonderful balanced story. Very well written!
Revisado: 06-20-20
I have listened to so many books that the romance part of it was like a separate story, full of anxiety and angst. This book is smooth, balanced and does not fall into the same old formula of combining a great plot and interpersonal relationships. This trilogy is captivating and lovely. I have listened to all of them twice now.

Political message overrides the history
Revisado: 03-13-20
I listened to sample instead of reading the reviews. I stopped 3 stories in and deleted this book because of the militant feminism. I love history and especially ones with women in it but I felt pummeled by the authors agenda and biased representation of history.
