Peacemakers. The Galactic Union's most capable enforcers and resolute negotiators, their name alone elicits fear and awe among the Union's citizenry. Except for Jessica Francis. Not only is she the newest Peacemaker, Jessica is also the first Human Peacemaker, and she commands the respect of few, both inside and outside the Peacemaker's Guild. No one believes humanity is ready to take on the mantle of being a Peacemaker, and Jessica is stuck flying a desk. That is, until a species-induction mission comes along, and she is in the right time and place to get assigned to it.

It fealt like the author made the humans stupid just so the aliens would seem smarter. The main human characters act more like impulsive teenagers than like trained professional adults who have lead people into combat. I liked the Peace Maker but barely finished this one

Not a fan of the Virtual.
Revisado: 04-19-24
The story was good but I feel like I missed something, I don't know it this book is part of a series is metioned but it refered to passed events like we should already know the history.
The Virtual reading was flat with no personality. The narrator voice didn't match the character and it made it hard to really get into the story. That Virtual might be better for a history, or biography or something else without different characters or that does need emotions to be expressed. I don't think I'd buy a book 2 for this story with Virtual voice.

Historia
The year 12,090 AD. It is a dark time for the world. Humanity is just crawling out from under 300 years of domination by the race of vampires known as the Nobility. The war against the vampires has taken its toll; cities lie in ruin, the countryside is fragmented into small villages and fiefdoms that still struggle against nightly raids by the fallen vampires - and the remnants of their genetically manufactured demons and werewolves.

Character description gets redundant really fast.
Revisado: 09-25-23
Why did you have to tell us how beautiful the main characters are in every paragraph? we get it they're good looking. You can't even get throught a fight without telling us how beautiful the main characters are. Its weird, It's like every character is fantasizing about every other character every scene. it made it hard to finish. Story could have been decent otherwise. I don't know if I could make it through the another of these books.

Historia
When Florence Finch died at the age of 101, few of her Ithaca, NY, neighbors knew that this unassuming Filipina native was a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, whose courage and sacrifice were unsurpassed in the Pacific War against Japan. Long accustomed to keeping her secrets close in service of the Allies, she waited 50 years to reveal the story of those dramatic and harrowing days to her own children.

Good but not what I expected.
Revisado: 05-28-22
Good story but I think it should have focused more on Mrs. Finch or maybe had a different. It seemed to focus mainly on the POW's and Military chain of command then on her until the end.
She seemed like a side story to the POW'S. situation for most of the book.

Historia
Kodyn expected hardships along his journey to return a kidnapped girl to her father. Yet harsh deserts and cutthroat bandits prove far less lethal than the foes that await him in Shalandra, the City of the Dead. In the shadows of golden spires carved from mountain stone, currents of corruption and vice run deep. Priests of the god of death rule with an iron fist, imposing a rigid caste system that elevates some to a life of privilege and condemns others to miserable squalor.

Great book but I feel like I'm missing something.
Revisado: 12-01-21
I really like this book and it reading but I felt like I was listening to book 2 in the series. I kept looking to see if the was another book that I missed. The book kept referring to people and events from a time between this book and the prequel. They never go back and cover the back story, they just drop little pieces like I should already know that part of the story . Other than that it's a good book with an interesting story and the narrator is great. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
