Audiobooks are meant to be read much like an actor reading a part. There should be appropriate feeling, vocal expression, inflection, and accurate pronunciation of words. This was not the reader of this book.

Excellent audio recording!

The actors and recording was great. I really love the way some of the audio recordings are taped these days. The listener can become more invoked in the presentation. The music was also great, but became very repetitive. There were too many breaks filled with “the” music in the story. In some cases it seemed that the music was longer than the preceding act. I did enjoy spending a couple of hours listening though!

Excellent Recording!

This recording was as if you in the room with the actors. Every sound was clear, enunciated, and moving when necessary. The story was fun to listen to and the actors were great. I loved it! Thanks!

Really Bad

This is the first review I've ever written but this reading of The Lying Club was so bad that I finally quit in frustration. This is not a "thriller" of any kind, including "crime" or "psychological" as it was described. It may have been better with another narrator, but I doubt that it would have made much difference. I do know that by the time I had listened to the main character, Natalie, speak for six hours I couldn't stand to listen to one minute more.

Never Ending

Interesting story with extensive research but it never seemed to end. I finally had to call it quits when I couldn’t remember anything I had listened to for the previous 30 minutes.

Tower 57

This was a fun story and the acting was great. It reminded me of sitting in front of the radio when I was a kid (many eons ago), listening to weekly radio shows. It was exciting as a child and very entertaining as an adult. Thank you.

Behind Closed Doors

This was a depressing, horrible book that is being misrepresented as literature. I tried to read enough to give the author a chance, but there was absolutely nothing enjoyable about wading through this disgusting story. I had to quit and I will try to get my credit returned.

The Harvest Man

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. This series has become more disorganized as it has progressed. I think it's time for Mr. Grecian to take a vacation and decide what he intends to do with this story.

What was most disappointing about Alex Grecian’s story?

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. By the third book, Mr. Grecian started moving into a story line that was still somewhat enjoyable but becoming more difficult to understand and/or believe. The Harvest Man is so unbelievable and disorganized that I could only listen in short segments. I did finish the book because I wanted to be fair to Mr. Grecian, but he only dug the hole deeper. I was totally depressed by the time I heard the end of this book. I have no idea what Mr. Grecian intends to do with the rest of this story but I doubt I'll spend anymore money or time to find out.

What about John Curless’s performance did you like?

I have always enjoyed listening to Mr. Curless's performances and this was no exception.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.
