This book is very good, hard to put down, with characters I have enjoyed for years. The ending was too sudden, however. Hopefully, a sequel will provide a satisfying conclusion.

unsettling but hard to put down

Not like the John Wells books. Just a good story, good performance...enjoyed it very much. My wife and I went on a long road trip, and I try to find Audible books that we both will enjoy. My tastes trend toward more action-oriented novels, but we both like mysteries. This book was perfect for the trip. It kept us entertained on the long ride up I-95 from Florida to Virginia. At every stop along the way , we wanted to get back to the book. 5 stars all the way!

A Talky action book

I am listening to these books in order. This one is the best one to date. The stories are pure fun. I listen on my commute to and from work. A big draw for me is that the main characters in each book are fewer in number than in a lot of thrillers, so I can listen and enjoy the story without having to go back and remind myself of who the characters are. Scott Brick's performances just keep getting better over the years. Highly recommended.

Pressfield Never Disappoints

This book is a close second to Gates of Fire. I loved the story, the detail, and the narrator is my favorite narrator of "action" books. This one has lots of action, and makes one realize the tremendous fragility of the new religion of Paul, in its early years. Story and narrator were superb.

best biography that will ever be done on boone

This audible book is probably the best yet most detailed book that I can imagine ever being done on this subject. It is interesting and the performance is perfect. It's just too long. When discussing an early biography of Boone, the author gives a biography of the biographer. Interesting. But for audible, it could easily and wisely be abridged. That is a minor complaint for such a well researched book. But I felt as though I were researching with the author. I recommend it, however. It is truly a fine work.
