Terrible example for young women

I was very disappointed with this book. The world the author created was fascinating and had so much potential. It was unfortunate how obsessed the main character was with men and the physical appearance of herself and other women. It is particularly dangerous that she only felt good about herself after she was made more beautiful, and that all of her motivations were fueled by her desire to be beautiful and have the attention of men. She was shallow, stupid, and self-absorbed and she remained that way throughout the book. Even at the end when she was at the peak of her power she still was submissive, weak, unconfident, and dependent on her male companion. It is a terrible example to set for young women.
