Historical Fiction

I misunderstood this book. I thought it was a short biography. but it is a book of historical fiction written in first person from the point of view of Madam Currie as a student scientist. It centers around how she met her husband and is meant to be a "love" story. I didn't think it worked well. Perhaps because I don't love historical fiction and am annoyed by writers who try to tell us made up stories of what historical people were thinking instead of a biographer laying out evidence for what they MAY have been thinking. So this is a bias of mine, as I love well researched real biographies.
The love story was not convincing to me (too short?) and I found myself rolling my eyes at the imagined conversations.
The performance was fine.
I suspect people who enjoy historical fiction would be more kind, and hopeless romantics may enjoy the made up storyline.
