Pretty Good!

I'm not generally a fan of virtual voice, but this one wasn't bad! It wasn't great narration, but it wasn't off-putting either. The story was as fun, cozy mystery, a nice light read. I will definitely by checking out the rest of the series. I'd like to go back to the beginning of the series and get to know the MC better.

I really liked this book! It was an engaging story, a great start to what I hope will be a fun series! Shakira Shute did a great job with narrating! I'm really looking forward to the next book!

This Was The Creepiest One Yet!

The Funtime Show was another excellent episode of Ellie Jordan, Ghost Hunter (and Stacey, too), and the creepiest one yet in my opinion! Something about those creepy puppets just made my skin crawl. If you love a good creepy, scary story, but not into loads of gore and violence, check out the Ellie Jordan series! Just listen with the lights on. 🤡😨

Love Wagtail, As Always...

I love this series! Wagtail is such a wonderful scenario, I'd love for there to be such a place! The story was great as usual, but I really, really hope that this will be the last of 'The Ben's' story arc. I get why the character is so insufferable, but I don't get why it's tolerated to the extent that it is. There were some very questionable decisions made, and hard lessons learned from them, but were they really necessary? There is such a thing as far too nice. Other than that, another wonderful visit to Wagtail, loved the 'Wagtail Murder Club', which would be totally fun to follow, and who couldn't adore that sweet Squishy! Looking forward to the next visit!

A Little Different, and A Fantastic Read!

I loved this! It was different from her other series, which I love (Nocturne Falls, Shadowvale, Jayne Frost/Frost & Crowe). It still had the same feel, but definitely different. The world and community were beautifully developed and the story and characters were engaging! There was a lot of description of science fiction/starship-type things, but not so much jargon that you couldn't relate to it or follow what was happening. I've read other science fiction books that were so filled with jargon and made up words, I couldn't tell whether I was reading a story or if their keyboard blew up. This was not that. It was easy to follow and interesting, like a murder mystery on the Starship Enterprise. (Captain Picard era, of course!) I can't wait for the next two to drop.

Now I'm A Fan

I have read other reviews that have complained about the new accents, but they don't bother me since I started on this end of the series. But I can understand how that might be jarring if you were used to hearing them without. Personally, I think it adds color to the characters, and I've always liked Hollie Jackson's characterizations. I have come to understand that Nina is just that way, so while it was a bit much at first, knowing that helps to look past all the swearing. I really enjoyed the story, and I look forward to reading more of them past this one! I've been a long time fan of her Witch Slapped series, and I've always wished I could get into this series, too. However, I don't like books that have a lot of graphic sex in them. So now I can enjoy these, too, and that makes me a happy reader/listener! 😊

I Really Liked This One!

I really liked this! I love the Witchslapped series, and the Marshmallow Hollow series, and this sounded like fun. So I thought I'd give it a chance. I understand that other books from this series are a bit graphic, which is why I haven't tried any of them, but I figured that if I ran into any of those scenes, I'd just skip forward. There is quite a bit of swearing... well A LOT of swearing, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars overall. But other than that, it was a fun, sweet story with nary an uncomfortably graphic scene. I plan to try others in series!

Best Spooky Reads for Any Time of Year!!!

I love J L Bryan's Ellie Jordan series! I'm generally not a fan of horror fiction, but this series has interesting stories and just the right about of spookiness without being over the top. Perfect for this time of year, or any time! Can't wait until the next one!

The Continuing Story...

I'm so happy that we get more stories in this series! This was so much fun! This is the continuing story of Stevie and Win and the gang as a new chapter in their lives unfolds. I was a little worried that since the series name changed, there would be more significant changes in the style, such as more "adult" themes. However, it is written the same sweet and funny, entertaining style as before, and I understand why it had to, now that Stevie... well, read it for yourself. No spoilers! Narrator, Hollie Jackson, delivers the snappy wit of the dialogue with as much skill and timing as ever. I hope there are many more stories to come! It just makes my day when a new one comes out!

Another Great Ellie & Stacy Story
