Virtual voice
Revisado: 05-22-24
The book was delightful though a little different, by that I mean the language and colloquialism used throughout the text. I’m not sure if maintaining the setting of the time was important but the use of such things did take away from the storyline a little. The virtual voice however is the biggest distraction. There’s no passion no alteration regarding rise and fall which would normally show concern, fear, anger or happiness when read by a person.
Loved the twists and turns in the story.

Historia
This is a story of forbidden love in the southern US in the early 1800s between the son of a slave owner and a slave. The lust does not just stop there. It goes on to have a grip on the pretty daughter of the house and a huge handsome Mandingo slave on the plantation.

Worst book I’ve ever come across
Revisado: 08-29-18
I have come across some pretty horrible books in my time but this once takes the cake. I wish I could get my money back. I’m not sure how a book that is supposed to be written to reflect itself as a period piece is utilizing language like the word “bro” I’m sure that’s not how they were speaking during that time. The only reason I’m giving it any type of star rating is because I can’t submit the review without it.
