Narrator great.
Revisado: 07-25-17
This was an audio book, and the narration was great, and the basic story was good, though perhaps a bit too long.

Good Book! Narration? 90 % good, 10% terrible.
Revisado: 11-12-15
What made the experience of listening to No Time for Goodbye the most enjoyable?
The basic story was pretty good, although it could have been shortened up somewhT.
Would you be willing to try another one of Christopher Lane’s performances?
For the most part, the narration was good, but certain characters voices were electronically changed, and they were bad. There was also the older man, who totally reminded me by his voice of the old actor, Jimmy Steward. I don't know if this was intentionally, but it grated on me everytime this character spoke.

This is a story about a person with integrity who loves his occupation, and everything about it. A principled man.

Historia
Drugs. Extortion. Slavery. Organized crime is fighting for a hold on John Rebus's peaceful Scotland. And when Rebus rescues a young Bosnian girl forced into prostitution, he breaks a policeman's golden rule to never get personally involved in a case. Add to that the hunt for an elderly Nazi accused of slaughtering an entire French village, and Rebus wonders just how evil humans can be - until his own daughter is mortally injured as a gangland warning for him to back off. Then even a dedicated cop like Rebus might make a deal with the devil to find the culprit. Not for justice. For revenge.

Way too Long and Convoluted.
Revisado: 06-18-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The author attempted too many topics from local gangsters, to ex Nazi criminals to senior citizens importing drugs to east European sex slaves to Japanese Yakusa gangs; too much going on.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Cut it down in subject matter. Rebus has always been enjoyable.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Page?
Most anybody else. The main accent for Rebus was ok, but the narrator trying other characters was grating to the ear.
Was The Hanging Garden worth the listening time?
Just barely.

Best Narrator Ever!
Revisado: 05-28-13
If you could sum up Hidden River in three words, what would they be?
While the story line is good, what stands out is the narration. I've listened to this narrator, Gerald Doyle, just for his work. He does most of his narration for this author, Adrian McKinty, and together the work of the author is superb.

Super Narration!
Revisado: 02-29-12
What made the experience of listening to I've Got Your Number the most enjoyable?
Besides having a very good story, the narration brought the story alive, and I listened with a lot of chuckling and guffawing. Loved the accents and the humor behind the story.
