Historia
Marine First Lieutenant Jacob Brown is bored. For months he's been sitting around on an alien planet, waiting for command to recall his scout team so they could rest and be re-outfitted. When command finally does reach out, however, it isn't to order Obsidian home for some much needed r&r. Instead, they are being reactivated and sent out into the contested space of the recently conquered Eshquarian Empire to track down a single Terran cruiser called the Eagle's Talon.

Great Spin-off
Revisado: 07-01-20
I write very few reviews... but here it goes. I was unsure at first but the story caught up and passed my expectations! Truly looking forward to the next in the series.
Ani I do not have enough space to write about Paul Heitch. Fantastic work! I follow narrators more than anything else. A good narrator makes a great book! Thanks Paul for making another great book!!

MORE! MORE! MORE!
Revisado: 06-14-20
From the start I was easily hooked. I am a fan of Military Sci-fi, and Evolution Wars has just enough of a twist to keep you interested. And hell of a test to prove your sapien.
And I always find that Mark Boyett is the perfect choice to narrate this genre of audiobook (heck any audiobook!) I look forward to the continuation of the series.
**Side note - The cover design should be reconsidered. When quickly looking for a book, I would never have thought it would be Military Sci-fi.**

Historia
Without John C. Houbolt, a mid-level engineer at NASA, Apollo 11 would never have made it to the moon. Top NASA engineers on the project, including Werner Von Braun, strongly advocated for a single, huge spacecraft to travel to the moon, land, and return to Earth. It's the scenario used in 1950s cartoons and horror movies about traveling to outer space. Houbolt had another idea: Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. LOR would link two spacecraft in orbit while the crafts were travelling at 3,600 miles an hour around the moon. His plan was ridiculed and considered unthinkable.

Would be better in print
Revisado: 07-31-19
This is one of the titles that you need to read. Its intresting to listen to the different phrases, but to see them, write it down or do additional searches would be better with a printed copy.
But hey... its free and only 14 minutes long.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

I write very few reviews because I don’t like trying to explain what makes a book good or bad to me. The Dispatcher was just one of those that I shook my head to saying, Damn that’s a good book.

Narrator, Narrator, Narrator
Revisado: 03-05-17
Where does Annihilation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I am going to rate it in the series. I fell in love with the story and the PRIOR narrator, Ray Porter after listening for a very short time. Ray Porter made the first 3 books come alive. The ability to sit back and listen and just let the story float into your mind was wonderful. THEN book 4 and Kevin Pierce became the narrator...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Annihilation?
The most Un-memorable was Kevin Pierce as the Narrator. Unlike the prior narrator of books 1-3 of this series, you cannot let this story flow into your mind, you have to focus, pay attation and sometimes back up the story because you missed something due to how it is being read. I lost a lot of the story because of Keving Pierce.
How could the performance have been better?
Continued to use Ray Porter. Unless something happened behined closed door that we the listener is unaware of, a great narrator should not be changed in the middle of a series.
Any additional comments?
After listening to the first book and falling in love with the narrator Ray Porter, I used my credits to buy all of the books in the series. BAD MISTAKE.

Poor Narrator / Slow Story / Could not Finish
Revisado: 07-07-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Anyone who could struggle through the Narrator and had time to get through slow story
Would you ever listen to anything by Vaughn Heppner again?
I am now bypassing Vaughn Heppners books due to how slow this book was.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of David Stifel?
I would like to see if a narrator like Mark Boyett would have livened this story up.
What character would you cut from The Lost Starship?
I was not able to get into this book well enough to be able to say who I would cut.
Any additional comments?
As a fan of Sci-Fi I understand that some books start slow then pick up as they go. Unfortunately never got up and started running. The second issue is that the narrator had so much bass in his voice I could not listen to it in my truck which is where I listen to the most of my books. This ended up being a waist of a good credit.
