AI voice takes a mediocre book down.

This book is not well written. It’s basic world and character building. The book spends too much time inefficiently developing characters that have no real depth. The AI voice mispronounces words often only to pronounce them correctly the next sentence. The narration was monotone and enhanced the poor character building. There’s nothing to encourage me to continue this series. AI narration is a sure way to make a mediocre writer a failure. There’s some things that should not be done by AI.

This book is pure ugh for me. The misogyny is disgusting. Every male in the book is simultaneously in love with Junco all while abusing her. She’s supposed to be some tough chick, mostly she’s just pathetic. She is careless constantly setting herself up to be abused. I guess to fuel the story line that she’s tough? Granted she’s 19 so a lot of that can be believable with raging hormones and basic 19 year old with no talk like experiences. If this is the drivel young women are reading where you can be as emotionally erratic as the mood strikes. Forgetting the past never learning from it. Males can treat you with disdain if they later on come into your private space while you’re most vulnerable and hug you. Then the future of women kind will be to always be a victim, just pretend your tough. I can’t stand any more of this non moving plot designed to drag out how junco is the only woman in a sea of males. Ugh!
