The latest stunning release from the author of Of Dice and Men comes a tale based in history, told through the eyes of Susan Kingsley, a shy yet bold museum assistant in the midst of change, displacement, and growth. Susan Kingsley is a historical acquisitions assistant with career ambitions at the Smithsonian Museum. She shares an apartment with her ex-husband, FBI special agent Andrew Harrison.

Journey of self discovery.
Revisado: 03-10-25
Fun to follow along as Susan gains confidence. Also nice to listen to a book that doesn’t include an unnecessary love story forced in. Narration was a bit slow for me but worked really well at 1.5 speed for me.

Probably my favorite narrator I have come across. Story was great too. Looking forward to more in the series.

Boring.

I listen in my car like a lot of people. This is the first book that I never had to finish a chapter before getting out of the car. Was dull most the time and left me uninterested. Read well though on a good note.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

First audiobook I age ever listened to.
Revisado: 06-24-17
This is my first audiobook ever. Steven Weber did such an amazing narration. I'm hooked and hope other audiobooks hold up against this one.
