A very good recap of the author’s vacations over the years.
Revisado: 04-21-25
I enjoyed hearing about KJ’s adventures through the years. Although I’ve never been to any of the locations, I could “see” them in my mind’s eye as I listened.
If I hadn’t been notified this was “Narrated by Virtual Voice” I would never have known it wasn’t a real woman reading it. The voice was pleasant to listen to, and easy to understand.
I recommend anyone wanting to read/hear about family vacations and maybe wondering where they should take their family—or not—should listen to this AudioBook. I firmly believe I would be like “Science Boy.” I have spent some time at the beach and lake in my younger days, and even with ample sunscreen on, being blond also, I burned. I couldn’t do that now.

Very disappointed in this episode
Revisado: 02-22-15
I have enjoyed the other stories about Kay Scarpetta. However, in this episode, Patricia Cornwell steps back from the character and writes in a totally different way. Even when Dr. Scarpetta is in the scene, she is a stranger to the reader. Too often in the story, Patricia has told what is going on instead of showing us. Too often in the story, Patricia has given too much information that has nothing to do with the scene or the storyline.
The narrator does a good job, however, whenever Pete Marino is speaking, he even seems like a different character. In the other books, when Pete speaks, we know it's him by the tone of the narrators voice, even before we are told that he is speaking. But in this episode, she changed the way he spoke.
